Job description

SEASONAL BREWER/CELLAR PERSON, FULL-TIME

We have a full-time position available for a seasonal Brewer/Cellar Person at our main production facility in Ballard. Fremont Brewing is a regional brewery focused on producing high quality beer. We produce a variety of year-round beers, seasonals, barrel-aged specialty beers, non-alcoholic beer and cider. The role of Seasonal Brewer/Cellar Person is responsible for all brewing and beverage production. This position will be 30-40 hours per week and will run from June through August. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Job Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Responsible for all brewing and beverage operations including: cellaring, wort production, cider production, cleaning, yeast handling, CIP's, transferring, centrifuging, fining, pasteurizing, etc.
  • Has a safety-first mindset, works with personal and coworker safety in mind, and adheres to all safety procedures.
  • Responsible for periodic packaging of beer and other cross department work when needed.
  • Brewery oak barrel work including: cleaning, filling, emptying, adjunct additions, and other associated duties.
  • Ensures the highest quality beer is being created in the facility.
  • Maintains brewery in a clean, tour-ready state.
  • Upholds QA/QC standards.
  • Accurately follows recipes and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintains accurate record keeping with brewing, cellaring and fermentation data.
  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned by Brewing Manager. Required Skills / Experience
  • 1+ year of brewery experience required.
  • Must possess a positive, can-do mentality.
  • Enthusiasm for cross-departmental teamwork is necessary.
  • Able to work first and second shifts and weekends.
  • Strong communication skills, organizational habits, problem solving skills, a self-motivated work ethic, and the ability to positively engage with others.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Desire to learn and grow as a professional in our industry.
  • A love of beer and working in a fun team-oriented environment.
  • Must have a great sense of humor and the ability to laugh at oneself.
  • A keen sense of the difference between awesomeness and not awesomeness.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and/or similar applications.
  • Be punctual and maintain good attendance. Physical Requirements
  • Standing for long periods of time (up to 10 hours per day).
  • Ability to move heavy materials (lifting to 55 lbs, moving up to 160 lbs).
  • Climbing ladders in accordance with company safety protocols.
  • Ability to leap tall building in a single bound.
  • Routine pushing, pulling, reaching, stooping, climbing, bending.
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments.
  • Ability to work safely with hazardous chemicals.
  • Must use proper PPE
