Job description

Sparrow Company is searching for reliable and hardworking Seasonal Tank Operators to support a food manufacturing facility during its peak production season. This hands-on position is responsible for monitoring and maintaining fermentation and storage tanks, ensuring product quality, food safety, and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). The ideal candidate has experience in food manufacturing, industrial production, or a similar environment and is comfortable working in a physically demanding, fast-paced setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Perform scheduled production tasks, inspections, and maintenance activities throughout each shift
  • Monitor, inspect, and maintain fermentation and storage tanks according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Mix products using air mixing systems, manual mixing methods, and other approved production processes to maintain product consistency
  • Clean tank interiors and surrounding equipment to preserve product quality and food safety
  • Inspect products and equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards and food safety requirements
  • Perform routine quality checks and accurately document production activities
  • Assist with monthly inventory counts of tank contents and production materials
  • Perform minor facility maintenance, including replacing water hoses, repairing faucets, and maintaining water lines
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions or production concerns to supervisors
  • Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary production areas in accordance with GMP standards
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, HACCP, GMP, and company safety procedures
  • Work collaboratively with production and quality teams to maintain efficient operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least 1 year of experience in food manufacturing, beverage production, dairy processing, brewery, winery, industrial manufacturing, or a related production environment preferred
  • Experience working with fermentation tanks, storage tanks, batch processing, mixers, or similar production equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, food safety, sanitation, and quality control procedures
  • Experience following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and accurately completing production documentation
  • Ability to perform routine inspections and identify quality or equipment concerns
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform minor repairs using basic hand tools
  • Experience performing inventory counts and maintaining accurate production records preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and product quality
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently while following detailed work instructions
  • Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to report quality concerns immediately

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to stand and walk for 8-12 hour shifts
  • Ability to work in hot or warm manufacturing environments
  • Frequently bend, twist, kneel, climb, reach, and perform repetitive movements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely work around large industrial tanks, production equipment, and manufacturing machinery
