Job description

The Technical SEO Specialist will work within the Search Engine Optimization and OmniSearch team to support and execute advanced technical SEO initiatives across the enterprise digital ecosystem. This role is responsible for optimizing organic search visibility, AI discoverability, crawlability, indexation, structured data, and overall site health across ecommerce, content, local, and brand experiences.
This position will play a critical role in helping drive scalable SEO solutions through technical audits, automation, APIs, GitHub workflows, structured data implementation, enterprise CMS integrations, and collaboration with development teams. The ideal candidate combines strong SEO expertise with technical problem-solving skills and a passion for emerging AI search technologies including Google AI Overviews, Gemini, ChatGPT, and other LLM-driven discovery platforms.
Working closely with cross-functional partners including Digital Commerce, IT, Development, Product, Analytics, UX, Brand Marketing, Content, Merchandising, and agency partners, this role will help improve organic visibility, traffic, conversion rate, and revenue across multiple digital properties.
This is an onsite position, that requires being in-office at our headquarters in Springfield, Missouri.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Technical SEO Execution & Optimization
  • Execute and support enterprise Technical SEO strategies designed to improve crawlability, indexation, rankings, traffic, and conversion performance
  • Conduct comprehensive technical SEO audits across websites, mobile experiences, content hubs, and ecommerce platforms
  • Identify and resolve technical SEO issues related to:
    • Indexation
    • Crawl efficiency
    • Canonicalization
    • Internal linking
    • Redirect management
    • Structured data/schema markup
    • JavaScript rendering
    • Site speed/Core Web Vitals
    • XML sitemaps
    • Robots.txt governance
    • Duplicate content
    • Faceted navigation
    • International SEO
  • Monitor and troubleshoot SEO issues using platforms such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Conductor, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Adobe Analytics, GA4, and related enterprise SEO tools
  • Support structured data and entity optimization initiatives to improve visibility within AI-powered search experiences and rich results

Development & Automation
  • Work directly with development teams to ensure SEO best practices are integrated into website releases and sprint planning
  • Utilize GitHub and related version control workflows to review, document, validate, and manage SEO-related code deployments and technical requirements
  • Collaborate with developers on implementation of:
    • SSR (Server-Side Rendering)
    • React/JavaScript SEO best practices
    • API integrations
    • Structured data frameworks
    • Headless CMS environments
    • Performance optimization
  • Build or assist in developing internal SEO tools, automation workflows, scripts, dashboards, and reporting solutions to improve operational efficiency
  • Leverage APIs and automation platforms to streamline SEO audits, metadata management, content validation, reporting, and monitoring
  • Assist in QA testing for SEO-related releases and technical implementations

SEO Strategy & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with SEO Manager, Product teams, Merchandising, UX, Engineering, Analytics, and Content teams to support enterprise SEO initiatives
  • Represent SEO requirements within agile development processes, sprint planning, and release management
  • Assist in the development and execution of:
    • Content optimization strategies
    • Category optimization initiatives
    • Product Detail Page (PDP) optimization
    • AI discoverability strategies
    • Local SEO initiatives
    • Internal linking strategies
  • Work closely with agency partners and vendors to ensure SEO deliverables align with enterprise standards and KPIs

Reporting & Analytics
  • Build and communicate recurring SEO performance reports and KPI dashboards
  • Analyze technical SEO performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Monitor organic search trends, indexing behavior, ranking changes, traffic patterns, and AI search visibility
  • Support forecasting, testing, benchmarking, and reporting efforts related to SEO performance and business impact

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Web Development, Marketing, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of SEO experience with a strong focus on Technical SEO
  • Strong understanding of enterprise ecommerce SEO best practices
  • Experience working with large-scale websites and complex site architectures
