    Initial salary placement is commensurate with related experience and promotional rules.     The Position
    Applications are currently being accepted for Manager, Applications Development in the Information Technology department, located at our beautiful, sunny San Diego District Office. Hours are Monday to Friday (8am - 5pm). Selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department's needs.
    Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology, the Manager of Application Development manages the application development staff in design, development, implementation and support of applications and interfaces.
    Please note that an employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor.

    Desired Qualifications
    Job Functions:
    * Oversee technical staff and consultants performing design, development, implementation, maintenance, and reporting on applications and projects.
    * Lead, mentor, and evaluate team performance. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
    * Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and developing staff talent to meet departmental needs.
    * Prioritize development work based on regulatory requirements, business needs, and resource availability to deliver high-impact solutions on time.
    * Oversee release planning and coordinate environments across Development, Test, QA, and Production. Communicate project progress, risks, and timelines to stakeholders and leadership.
    Required Qualifications:
    * Hands-on experience with implementing, configuring and supporting PeopleSoft, Oracle Fusion or Workday Finance and/or HR.
    * Strong background in application security and system to system integrations.
    * Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (OCI, AWS, Azure, or similar platforms).
    * On-prem to SAAS application migration experience is a plus.
    * Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    * Demonstrated experience in technical project leadership and cross-functional coordination.
    * Five (5) years of experience leading or managing software development teams.
    * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering or equivalent experience.

    Conditions of Employment:
    SELECTED CANDIDATE IS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT:
    • Submit "official" college transcripts as stated on application (even if a degree is not a requirement for this position);
    • Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam for initial appointment (Note: The certificate must be renewed every 4 years as a condition of continuing employment);
    • Have fingerprints taken by a Live Scan computer at the District's expense (Clearance must be received prior to first day of employment);
    • Present original documents for proof of eligibility to work in the United States as required by the I9 Employment Eligibility Verification form; AND,
    • Attend a new hire processing appointment in Human Resources located at the District Administrative Offices.

    EMPLOYMENT AFTER RETIREMENT
    If you accept a contract (permanent) position with SDCCD and are a retired annuitant with CalPERS or CalSTRS, you must reinstate from your retirement system. Please reference the CalPERS or CalSTRS website for further information.
