Job description

Astronics-PECO, located in picturesque Clackamas, Oregon near the foothills of Mt. Hood, designs, certifies, manufactures, and sells a wide range of products to commercial, government, and military markets throughout the world. Our highly engineered interior and structural aerospace products are supplied to the largest aircraft manufacturers and are installed in aircraft around the globe, and our military products are used in critical national defense applications.We are looking for an experienced Screw Machine Set-up Technician for a limited duration position

We anticipate that this position will be for 2-3 months to assist in setting our screw machine team up for success. We operate Acme Gridley and Brown & Sharpe machines. To be the most successful in this role you need to be extremely familiar with Acme Gridley machines.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Support Preventative Maintenance program development Train less experienced operators Document machine set up parameters for parts manufacturing Conduct, train and document process on screw machine set-ups Read plans to determine requirements, measurements, and allowable tolerances. Operates dial or digital calipers, thread gages, go/no-go pins and micrometers. Visually inspects surfaces for flaws and smoothness and adjusts accordingly.

Accurately maintain or update Set up sheets Diagnose and adjust processes to address defects Work with engineer(s) to develop new processes Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 10+ years working on screw machines Extensive knowledge of and experience with Acme Gridley screw machines Proficient in troubleshooting machine issues Ability to read/interpret/understand customer drawings and manufacturing plans Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and the ability to interpret and explain data Strong presentation skills and an ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to perform problem analysis and problem resolution.
