YOUR DAY AS A SWISS SCREW MACHINE OPERATOR

As a Swiss Screw Machine Operator, you will set up and operate Escomatic Swiss-type screw machines, aligning workpieces and tooling accurately. You will read engineering drawings and work instructions to program machines using G-code, optimizing parameters for efficiency and quality. Your tasks will include various machining operations such as turning, milling, drilling, threading, and deburring. You will monitor processes, making adjustments to maintain quality, and identify any machining issues for troubleshooting. Collaborating with engineering and quality teams, you'll resolve challenges and ensure components meet specifications. You will also document production logs and inspection records while participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace safety and productivity.


REQUIREMENTS FOR A SWISS SCREW MACHINE OPERATOR

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience operating Escomatic Swiss-type screw machines or similar CNC machines
  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of G-code programming and machine-specific languages
  • Familiarity with measurement instruments, such as micrometers and calipers
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, including speeds, feeds, and tooling selection
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards and regulations
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures accurately
  • Effective communication skills for teamwork
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks
  • Commitment to safety and protocol adherence

Technical or vocational training in machining is preferred.
