Job Responsibilities:

Wage Range: ~ 45.00/Hour

  • Ensure that individual job target hours are met and identify opportunities to reduce overall hours
  • Ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Perform repairs on equipment maintenance with attention to safety, quality, cost and timing
  • Perform Preventative maintenance (PMs) on all equipment and machines
  • Knowledgeable on the construction and practical application of the various machines and equipment in the CNC machining department and the overall shop
  • Maintenance of general plant systems and equipment
  • Operate crane, fork truck and high reach equipment
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics and their operation
  • Acquire information to assist with maintenance and repair process(es) to specifications from vendor supplied schematics, data, drawings and instructions with regards to hydraulic, pneumatic or mechanical components and operation

  • Safely manufacture, modify or repair of components that may be required on machinery or in the plant

  • Safely operate manual saws, lathes and milling/drilling machines to manufacture, modify or repair components that may be required on machinery or in the plant
  • Repair various types of pumps and related valves
  • Remove and replace various types of bearings and seals
  • Repair drive systems on machines such as ball screw, linear guide, belt or direct drive, etc, as well as screw and belt type conveyor systems
  • Weld using oxy/acetylene, TIG and MIG
  • Rig and handle various sizes, shapes and weights of machinery and equipment
  • Ensure all spares, equipment, tooling, etc. within the department under your control are managed
  • Instruct both the theory and practical applications of the maintenance and repair processes and best practices to all members of the team respecting skill levels, with attention to safety, quality, cost and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)
  • Operate and instruct on the Tycos Maintenance Database and Work Order system
  • Participate in the flow of information within the department
  • Interact with Management, Team Leaders, Senior Machinists, etc.
  • Travel may be required for training, technical benchmarking, etc.
  • Available for telephone support and Call-In's, as required
  • Support and interact with Service and Maintenance Specialists contracted to perform specific tasks on machines, equipment and the plant

Education:

  • Minimum completion of Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Certificate of Qualification as Industrial Millwright #433A (Licensed)
  • Licensed to work on high reach equipment

Experience:

  • Currently registered as a Maintenance Millwright
  • Prior mechanical work experience in automotive industry or CNC machine shop is required

Skills:

  • Strong ability to work independently
  • Strong knowledge of general plant systems and equipment
  • Good knowledge of industrial electronics
  • Understand the information required to assist with maintenance and repair process(s) to specifications from vendor supplied schematics, data, drawings and instructions
