THE ROLE
Provides leadership and direction for Legends Global Merchandise's apparel decoration operations. The Director oversees screen print, heat seal, and other assigned production functions while ensuring operational excellence, product quality, team development, and on-time delivery through strong cross-functional collaboration.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create a production schedule that meets both internal and external needs.

  • Oversee and manage multiple production locations.

  • Purchases supplies required for operations, based on production schedule.

  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.

  • Inspects and measures finished product to verify conformance to specifications.

  • Directs team members in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards.

  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

  • Identify opportunities for administrative and process improvement.

  • Implement changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.

  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

  • Work with vendors and industry experts.

  • Maintains time and production records.

  • Develops capital equipment justifications for machines and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times.

  • Develop production standards, policies and procedures for the department.

  • Insure ink mixtures conform to PMS color and quality, and manage overall ink costs.

  • Aid in the recruitment process through conducting interviews, hiring of staff, and new agent training.

  • Maintain consistent contact with team members regarding "on-the-floor" activities.

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Manages up to 100 team members in the Production Department and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Required Qualifications
  • Seven to ten years experience in apparel decoration and screen printing or a related manufacturing environment.

  • Three to five years of experience leading production teams in a manufacturing environment.

  • Personnel management and employee development experience.

  • Thorough knowledge of screen printing methods, production processes, and related equipment.

  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.

  • Computer proficiency with production planning, scheduling, and shop floor management systems.

  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead teams effectively.

  • Commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience.

  • Ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize Legends production systems, equipment, and operating procedures.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience leading high-volume apparel decoration or screen print operations.

  • Working knowledge of multiple apparel embellishment techniques, including puff inks, digital squeegee, DTG, heat seal, transfers, specialty inks, embroidery, and other garment decoration technologies.

  • Experience leading multi-shift and/or multi-location production operations.

  • Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, throughput, and cost reduction.

  • Experience with ERP/MRP or manufacturing execution systems (Infor M3 experience is a plus).

  • Experience managing capital equipment purchases, installations, or production technology implementations.

  • Prior experience working with licensed sports, retail, or promotional apparel programs.

Training & Certification Requirements
The following training and certifications are required and will be provided as part of the onboarding process:
  • General Safety Training

  • Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) Training

  • Forklift Certification (as required)

  • Legends Total Customer Experience (TCE) Training
