Job Description Title: Mechanical Engineer Comp: $80,000-$100,000 Location: Anderson, IN (Onsite) Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a Mechanical Engineer direct hire position in the Anderson, IN area. Responsibilities: Design and develop custom mechanical systems and machine solutions to meet customer requirements and internal engineering standards Interpret equipment scope of work (SOW) documents to define requirements and develop functional design concepts Create detailed design packages including 3D models, engineering drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) Support machine debug, commissioning, and validation from initial setup through customer runoff and shipment Provide remote and onsite troubleshooting support for equipment issues and follow-up customer visits as needed Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, sales, and customer teams to ensure design intent is met Estimate project scope, timelines, and costs while managing schedule, budget, and deliverables Manage multiple concurrent mechanical design projects while maintaining timelines and technical quality Participate in hands-on shop floor activities (~25%) including build support, troubleshooting, and system validation Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Support full lifecycle machine development from concept through installation and customer acceptance Occasionally travel locally to customer sites for support and troubleshooting Required Skills (Must Have): Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline 3-5+ years of mechanical design or machine design experience in a manufacturing or OEM environment Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD for 3D modeling and mechanical design Experience working in a cross-functional environment (engineering, production, sales, and customers) Hands-on experience with custom machine design, automation systems, or industrial equipment Experience with robotics (Fanuc or Epson preferred), pneumatics, and mechanical system integration Ability to work in both an office design environment and a hands-on shop floor setting Strong understanding of manufacturability, cost considerations, and mechanical design principles Preferred Skills (Nice to Have): Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints and schematics Project management experience supporting machine builds or capital equipment projects Familiarity with ANSI, RIA, and industrial safety standards Experience working in ISO-certified or ASME-regulated manufacturing environments Exposure to custom automation or OEM machine build environments Ability to manage multiple projects with varying timelines (single long-cycle or multi-project workload) Strong communication and customer-facing experience #ENG123
