Project Coordinator

Location: Kansas City Area

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Coordinator to support Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Project Engineers within a fast-paced construction environment. This role is responsible for providing administrative and operational support throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project documentation, including subcontracts, change orders, purchase orders, and submittals.
  • Support project accounting functions by processing subcontractor pay applications, vendor invoices, client billings, and payment inquiries.
  • Coordinate communication among project teams and stakeholders.
  • Maintain digital drawings, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and vendor compliance records.
  • Prepare project closeout packages and substantial completion documentation.
  • Attend project meetings and assist with documentation, follow-up items, and administrative support.
  • Track and process prevailing wage documentation, certified payroll, and exemption certificates.
  • Communicate project updates and information to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Ensure client needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and support operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate project records and ensure documentation quality and consistency.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of Project Coordinator or Project Administrator experience within the construction industry.
  • Experience supporting project teams and managing construction-related documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills.
  • Experience utilizing BlueBeam for construction documents and drawings.
  • Familiarity with subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, submittals, and invoicing processes.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments and project stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
  • Supporting Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Project Engineers.
  • Construction project accounting, including vendor invoices, client billings, and subcontractor pay applications.
  • Prevailing wage documentation and certified payroll processing.
  • Construction document control and project closeout documentation.
Work Environment

This is a full-time, office-based position supporting construction projects across multiple business units. The role requires strong collaboration, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working with project teams, vendors, and clients.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
