Job description

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) is a private, nonprofit community-based healthcare system that provides care to a 22-county region in North Florida and South Georgia. We are a career destination with over 6,000 colleagues who reflect the diversity of our community. 
TMH is the region's healthcare leader and top provider of advanced care with a 772-bed acute care hospital and the region's only:

  • Level II Trauma Center 
  • Primary Stroke Center 
  • Level III Neonatal Intensive Care

  • The most advanced cancer, heart and vascular, orthopedic & surgery programs in the Panhandle. 

Our system also includes a psychiatric hospital, multiple specialty care centers, six residency programs and more than 50 affiliated physician practices. 


The Program Director is responsible for the overall administration, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Medical Laboratory Science Program. This role ensures academic, and accreditation standards are met across didactic, laboratory, and clinical components. Responsibilities include faculty supervision, curriculum development, budget management, student recruitment, industry engagement, and regulatory compliance.

Supervises: None

Education:
  • Required: Master’s degree in medical laboratory science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Preferred: Doctoral degree.
 
Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a certified medical laboratory technologist, with at least two (2) years in clinical laboratory practice and two (2) years teaching in an accredited medical laboratory program (as appointed faculty or clinical preceptor).
 
License: Licensed by the Florida Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in accordance with Florida Statutes (FS), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 483 (Health Testing Services), Part I (Clinical Laboratory Personnel) with added specialties in clinical chemistry, and/or hematology, and/or microbiology, and/or serology.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS. Doctor’s degree (or equivalent) in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution with two (2) years teaching in an accredited medical laboratory program (as appointed faculty or clinical preceptor).
