Job description

MSD is looking for a Data Analyst to join our team!

THIS IS AN IN-PERSON ROLE

The Data Analyst serves as a strategic partner to the business by transforming complex data into meaningful insights that drive informed decision-making and operational excellence. In this role, you will collaborate with leaders and cross-functional teams to understand business objectives, develop impactful reporting and interactive dashboards, and deliver data-driven solutions that improve efficiency, visibility, and performance across the organization. Leveraging tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Excel, Power Automate, SQL, Python, R, and other data analysis technologies, you will identify trends, uncover opportunities for process improvement, and provide actionable recommendations that support organizational goals.

The Data Analyst plays a key role in transforming data into meaningful business insights that drive smarter decisions across the organization. Using tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Excel, Power Automate, SQL, Python, and other data analysis technologies, this role develops impactful dashboards, reporting, and process documentation while partnering with stakeholders to identify opportunities, improve business processes, and deliver data-driven solutions that support organizational success.

Key Job Duties

  • Review, create, and update reporting and dashboards utilizing required system such as Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and Power Automate.
  • Communicate with appropriate team members and stakeholders to understand requirements and complete projects effectively.
  • Review, create, and update Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation and maintain system functionality documentation.
  • Proactively communicates with Supervisor and business stakeholders around reporting and dashboard needs, ensuring clear understanding of requirements and timelines.
  • Work with team to develop clear and concise standard operating procedures for system usage and documents systems functionality.
  • Produce required reporting as needed on a project by project basis in systems such as: Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and/or Power Automate .
  • Produce required scripting and data analysis using data mining tools and techniques, such as SQL, R, Python, or similar on a project basis.
  • Partners with the Chief Information Officer, management, and business process owners to plan and execute on reporting and dashboard needs that support organizational goals.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business, or a related field preferred
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence roles (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Experience with Power BI, advanced Excel, and data analysis tools (SQL, Python, or R) is highly desirable
  • Able to communicate clearly in written and verbal English
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status required
  • Unencumbered US Driver’s license
