Job description

As an Audio Visual (AV) Technician, you will be responsible for delivering seamless audio-visual and video conferencing experiences across corporate environments. This role involves hands-on support of AV systems, live event operations, installations, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance.
You will work in a dynamic, client-facing environment, supporting both day-to-day operations and high-profile events. Depending on experience and expertise, you may take on responsibilities ranging from technical execution to leading AV initiatives, mentoring team members, and driving process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and maintain AV systems including conference rooms, huddle spaces, digital signage, and control systems
  • QSC Q-SYS DSP and control processors, Logitech Sync, Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Shure MXA Microphones
  • Provide end-to-end support for meetings and live events, including setup, operation, troubleshooting, and teardown
  • Diagnose and resolve AV/VC technical issues in real time, ensuring minimal disruption
  • Support and manage video conferencing platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Cisco Webex
  • Work with AV control systems in collaboration with remote engineering teams
  • Perform cabling tasks including pulling, terminating, labeling, and testing (Cat5e/6, HDMI, audio, etc.)
  • Conduct routine system health checks, preventative maintenance, and upgrades
  • Manage AV inventory, equipment logistics, asset tracking, and RMA processes
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ticket updates using ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
  • Ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs), safety standards, and operational procedures
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams to deliver AV solutions
  • Support high-visibility and executive-level events with professionalism and precision
  • Contribute to process improvements, documentation, and standard operating procedures

Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT, AV, Electronics, or related field preferred
  • Experience in AV support, IT support, event production, or related technical roles
  • Experience level may range from entry-level to advanced, with increasing responsibility in troubleshooting, event support, and project execution

Certifications (Preferred)
  • AVIXA CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D
  • Crestron and/or Extron certifications
  • CompTIA A+ or Network+
  • Certifications in Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Cisco Webex
  • Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, Project+) are a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of AV systems including displays, projectors, microphones, speakers, and switchers
  • Familiarity with video conferencing technologies and collaboration platforms
  • Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot AV hardware and integrated systems

Salary Range
$35.08 - $55.38 USD (Hourly)
