Description
Assist students through the book pick up process, pull textbooks, restock shelves, and various other duties associated with book pick up. This is a temporary position that lasts 2-4 weeks at the start of the semester and a week or two at the end of the semester, with the possibility of returning for future semesters.
Description of Essential Functions (critical tasks)
  1. Pull student textbooks using a printed textbook list, ensuring accuracy and promptness.
  2. Package textbook orders for shipping; unpacking shipments coming into the bookstore.
  3. Greet and answer customer questions via various communication methods, such as in-person, telephone and email.
  4. Assist with making student IDs as needed.
  5. Assist on the point of sale when backup is needed.
  6. Assist in other areas of the bookstore as needed.

Specific Functional Job Requirements
Education: High school diploma
Experience: Minimum experience in retail preferred.
Knowledge: Ability to read and understand the student booklist and layout of textbook stacks.
Skills: Reading and comprehension skills, customer service skills.
Personal: General business and customer service etiquette.
Physical: Ability to lift and transport 20-30 pounds repetitively; ability to walk back and forth and/or stand throughout the duration of the shift.
