Maximo Techno-Functional consultant
Location: Houston TX - Onsite
Duration: 12 months
The IT Maximo Techno-Functional reports to the IT Operations Director and is responsible to lead and participate in the functional design, development, support, maintenance, and configuration of the operations and maintenance (O&M) application Maximo and support other peripheral applications and interfaces used to supplement operations and maintenance applications.
Responsibilities and duties:
  • Works with O&M user community and provide excellent user support for Maximo and related business processes.
  • Gather and analyze business requirements, prepare workflow diagrams, and develop functional design documents.
  • Execute and implement solutions according to business requirements and flow, including deployment of new and enhanced functionality.
  • Investigate and resolve complex problems through research and functional analysis.
  • Provide continual assessment and review of unit testing and integration plans to ensure solutions meet business needs and function as designed.
  • Effectively communicate work status information, design discussions and issues with the team comprised of resources from IT, consultants and end-users.
  • Work with technical team to review technical specifications and translate technical issues or requests to facilitate communication with by business users.
  • Keep applications current with appropriate patches or upgrades.
  • Review change management procedures and follow methodology for moving functional set-up or configuration into production.
  • Participate on 24/7 on call rotation schedule.

Required:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Maximo implementation and support.
  • Minimum 5 years full life cycle experience with all aspects of application setup,testing, user training, and production support.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with writing scripts and programming.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience recording meeting minutes and developing application implementation documentation.

Heavy functional and technical knowledge of Maximo 7.6 or later.

  • Functional and technical knowledge of Actuate BIRT reporting.
  • Functional and technical knowledge with WebSphere configuration and JMS Queues/messages.
  • Experience gathering and developing business requirements including creation of test cases/scripts and matching those test cases/scripts to requirements.
  • Configuration experience in Maximo database objects, presentation layer and workflows.
  • Must understand software applications in general and how to configure software.
  • Must have the ability to learn new technology and programming languages in support of application modifications and development.

Will be a plus:
  • Functional and technical knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite. Experience with integration to Oracle EBS via Oracle SOA.
  • JIRA test tracking software
  • Experience in using established Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) framework.
  • Functional and technical knowledge of Electronic Logbooks applications such as shift handover, operator orders.
  • Functional and technical knowledge of Permit to Work applications.
  • Functional and technical knowledge of Lab sampling applications used to sample natural gas.
  • Functional and technical knowledge of Management of Change (MOC) applications
  • Functional and technical knowledge of Akwire scheduling software or similar application.
