Bringing Home the Dough

The production operator is capable of contributing to all phases of the production process. Included is the operation of automated production equipment, primary diagnosis of machinery failures, aiding with preventative maintenance, and sanitation of equipment. Operators are expected to be competent to make production decisions concerning the preflight and operation of equipment. Operators must be flexible and adaptable, as they may be required to rotate job assignments throughout production. In addition, it is the responsibility of the operator to contribute to the maintenance of a safe work environment for themselves and their fellow operators. Position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect affect on product safety, legality and/or quality.

Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities/Major Duties
• Checks production work schedules for job assignment and work reporting time. 
•  When job assignment is SCALER/DIVIDER OPERATOR, responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
•    Checks and maintains production schedule. 
•    Scales ingredients 
•    Loads, operates and unloads mixer(s) 
•    Operates dough pump 
•    Checks posted scaling weights and equipment standards 
•    Adjusts and operates one pocket and six pocket dividers 
•    Adjusts and operates rounder 
•    Adjusts and operates overhead proofer 
•    Performs start-up/shut down sanitation and operator’s preventative maintenance 
•    Ensures that work area is clean and organized 
•    Performs other duties as directed by supervision 
•    Ensures compliance with al company policies and procedures (EEO, Harassment, Safety, Etc.) 
•  When job assignment is WRAPPING OPERATOR, responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 
•    Checks production schedule and verifies product running order. 
•    Checks pan count sheet for product quantity. 
•    Check production wrap count sheet for bag types. 
•    Sets and operates slicer, bagger, and tier equipment 
•    Performs quality control inspection of finished product 
•    Ensures that product is loaded correctly. 
•    Performs start-up/shut down sanitation and operator’s preventative maintenance 
•    Ensures work area is clean and organized 
•    Performs other duties as directed by supervision. 
•    Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Harassment, Safety, etc.) 
•  When job assignment is PALLETIZER, responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 
•    Checks production schedule and verifies product running order. 
•    Checks to ensure that the proper program is running. 
•    Checks pallets, slip sheets, etc. for quantity 
•    Performs start-up/shut down sanitation and operator’s preventative maintenance 
•    Ensures work area is clean and organized 
•    Performs other duties as directed by supervision. 
•    Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Harassment, Safety, etc.) 
•  Similar responsibilities apply when assignment is ROLL LINE OPERATOR, BOARD MONITOR, RETARD BOX MONITOR.
• All employees will be responsible and accountable for insuring the quality and safety of every function and all products

• Two years related bakery or production experience

Additional Ingredients: Essential Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency

Salary Range-  $24.35 $2 extra on nights, and $2 extra on weekends!
