JOB SUMMARY

The Asphalt Weighmaster is responsible for the accurate weighing, ticketing, and documentation of all customer and internal vehicles entering and exiting the asphalt plant. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate automated truck scales and specialized software to capture tare and gross weights for asphalt and aggregate products.
  • Accurately enter customer data, product codes, and haulage information into the ticketing system to produce official proof-of-purchase documents.
  • Ensure all outbound trucks comply with state-specific legal weight limits (e.g., CDOT/DOT rules) to prevent overloads and potential legal infractions.
  • Coordinate with plant operators to ensure the correct mix and tonnage are loaded according to the specific customer order.
  • Direct incoming and outgoing truck traffic to the appropriate loading areas, ensuring a smooth and safe flow of vehicles throughout the yard.
  • Act as the central communication hub between the scale house, asphalt plant Foremen, Loaders, and Dispatch teams via CB radio and telephone.
  • Coordinate with Loader Operators to ensure trucks are loaded with the correct material and to report any loading discrepancies.
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding product availability, pricing, and scheduling; process cash and credit sales with high accuracy.
  • Research and resolve ticket discrepancies or customer complaints promptly, documenting findings for management review.
  • Administer site-specific safety training and orientation for all visitors, vendors, and new drivers to ensure compliance with Martin Marietta’s safety protocols.
  • Maintain meticulous daily, weekly, and monthly records of tonnage, sales activity, and inventory reconciliation.
