Job Summary


The Scaffolding Manager is responsible for leading the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of the scaffolding division supporting aerospace and industrial projects. Oversees field operations, personnel, project estimating and execution, safety, quality, scheduling, equipment, and customer relationships while ensuring all scaffolding activities comply with applicable OSHA requirements, company policies, site-specific procedures, and aerospace industry standards. Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead and manage daily operations of the scaffolding division, including field crews, supervisors, and support personnel.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee scaffolding projects from estimating and mobilization through completion and demobilization.
  • Ensure scaffolding systems are properly designed, erected, modified, inspected, maintained, and dismantled in accordance with applicable standards and manufacturer requirements.
  • Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, customer requirements, and site-specific safety programs.
  • Develop manpower, equipment, material, and scheduling requirements for projects.
  • Monitor project costs, labor productivity, equipment utilization, and overall division profitability.
  • Review estimates, proposals, change orders, and project scopes to ensure accurate pricing and execution.
  • Supervise hiring, training, development, performance, and scheduling of scaffolding personnel.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained and qualified for assigned work, including fall protection, scaffold safety, competent-person requirements, and other applicable site requirements.
  • Conduct or oversee regular inspections of scaffolding, equipment, materials, and work areas.
  • In collaboration with the HSE department support, investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, inspection records, daily reports, and personnel records.
  • Manage scaffolding inventory, transportation, maintenance, and equipment availability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce costs, and standardize operating procedures.
  • Participate in customer meetings and bid walks, project planning sessions, safety meetings, and site inspections.
  • Resolve field issues and customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to quality requirements.
  • Support business development and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective aerospace customers.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, engineering, safety, or related field preferred.
  • Five plus years of progressive experience in scaffolding, industrial construction, maintenance, or related operations, with management or supervisory experience.
  • Experience managing scaffolding operations in an aerospace, industrial, petrochemical, manufacturing, power, or other highly regulated environment preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA scaffolding and fall-protection requirements and applicable industry standards.
  • Demonstrated understanding of scaffold erection, modification, inspection, dismantling, and safe work practices.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, crews, schedules, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of project budgeting, estimating, labor management, and cost control.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, work scopes, and project plans.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with customers, contractors, engineers, supervisors, and craft personnel.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and project-management or scheduling software.
  • Ability to work in an industrial/aerospace facility environment and meet applicable site-access, security, safety, and training requirements.
  • Ability to travel between project sites as required.
  • Relevant scaffolding, safety, competent-person, or supervisory certifications are highly desirable.
