Responsibilities may include monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining SCADA software and hardware used in industrial automation. These roles are often found in industries like energy, water management, and manufacturing. Part-time SCADA professionals typically assist with system updates, data analysis, and remote monitoring. This job requires knowledge of SCADA platforms, networking, and industrial control systems.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Scada Part Time position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a SCADA Part Time employee, you should have a background in industrial automation, computer science, or electrical engineering, along with knowledge of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. Familiarity with SCADA software platforms, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and networking protocols is often required, and possessing relevant certifications like CompTIA Network+ or ISA/IEC 62443 can be advantageous. This flexibility makes the role suitable for students, second-job seekers, or professionals seeking reduced hours, while still providing meaningful technical contributions.

Are SCADA engineers in demand?

SCADA engineers are in high demand due to the critical role they play in industrial automation, power plants, and manufacturing facilities. Employers seek professionals with skills in PLC programming, network security, and familiarity with SCADA systems like Wonderware or Ignition, often requiring relevant certifications. The field offers opportunities for full-time and part-time roles across various industries focused on infrastructure and automation projects.

  • Provide technical support for battery energy storage systems (BESS) design and grid integration.
  • Work with vendors and construction crews to ensure proper equipment procurement and installation.
  • Coordinate with drafting resources to develop complete construction packages, including one-line diagrams, plan and profile drawings, and detailed specifications.
