SAVARIA PATIENT CARE Built from a heritage of brands including Span, Handicare and Silvalea, Savaria Patient Care provides products designed for safe patient handling and positive outcomes. Our research and clinically based product portfolio include therapeutic surfaces for pressure management and positioning, a complete range of innovative ceiling and floor lifts and slings. Savaria Patient Care is a division of Savaria Corporation, a global leader in accessibility. OVERVIEW: The Installation & Service Technician will be primarily involved with the installation, service and preventative maintenance of Handicare products throughout the U.S. This individual will be called upon to perform site surveys and installation audits. Whenever possible, the work performed by the individual would be billable against a particular revenue generating project. Occasionally, based on available service and installation workload, the technician may perform other duties as assigned in other areas of the business such as production, assembly and distribution. Candidates must have construction experience and live in the Orlando, FL area, within 25 - 30 miles radius. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform installation of Handicare products. This includes but is not limited to resource allocation, customer and sub-contractor communication, expense tracking, final audit, etc. Products include, but are not limited to: ceiling track lifting systems, etc. Construction sites consist of hospitals and long-term care facilities.
  • Install ceiling track lift systems and other products per Handicare standards.
  • Perform on site surveys at prospective installation sites for the purpose of gathering all required information to plan and complete a ceiling track lift installation.
  • Perform on site audits of in progress and completed installations to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Coordinate delivery of products and other installation materials to coincide with arrival of labor resources as needed on a project.
  • Arrange site storage for products and materials as needed for installation projects.
  • Keep accurate project records for expenses, various required testing, training etc.
  • Interact directly with owners and staff at Hospitals, Nursing Homes, private residences, Group Homes, etc. while performing the above functions
  • Train the end users of the equipment on the operational aspects of the equipment sold and installed.
  • Perform service repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance as required.
  • Maintain the company service and installation vehicle in good operating condition and cleanliness.
  • Maintain the van inventory in an orderly fashion, at proper levels and account for all items used in the performance of service and installation functions.
  • Travel to out of state job sites as directed by supervisor, travel required up to 80% of the time.
  • Additional responsibilities as requested or required by management.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3 to 5 years of related experience and or training; preferably in building construction, mechanical, electrical and plumbing methods.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:
  • OSHA 10 Hour Certification required; OSHA 30 Hour Certification preferred.
  • A valid U.S. Driver's License with minimal driving infractions.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
  • Proficiency in Windows applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee may frequently stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel or crouch during shift. Employee will be required to regularly use hands to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms. Employee must be able to regularly lift, push, pull and or move up to 50 lbs. TRAVEL:
  • The Installation position can travel approximately 80% of the time dependent on regional needs. Must be able to commit to overnight travel for extended periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • This position works in an environment with loud noise levels. This position may frequently work near moving parts, be exposed to vibration and be exposed to airborne particles & dust. This position will occasionally work in high, precarious places and be exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
