OVERVIEW: The Material Handler position includes three possible roles within the team - Picker, Packer/Processor, and Receiver. These positions have responsibility for receiving finished good product in, picking, packing, and processing sales orders, cycle counting and inventory accuracy, material movement, and rack location organization in accordance with established processes and procedures. All Material Handlers must become certified forklift operators. This position will be located 100% on-site in Maryland Heights, MO. The hours of operation are 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. CDT.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receiver:
  • Receive incoming material into the warehouse utilizing the ERP system
  • Locate all incoming material to appropriate storage space
  • Consolidate like product during the put away and inventory movement process
  • Ensure quality for items received – correct PO, items, counts, and locations
  • Ability to learn and understand the products associated with all Product Lines
  • Additional responsibilities as requested or required by management
  • Picker:
  • Pick outgoing orders for customers using the ERP system
  • Organize the picking process so that multiple orders may be picked at one time
  • Ensure quality for orders picked – correct items, counts, and locations
  • Meet daily goals and ensure all work is completed
  • Ability to learn and understand the products associated with all Product Lines
  • Additional responsibilities as requested or required by management.
  • Packer/Processor:
  • Quality check picked orders
  • Pack items for safe delivery to customers following all departmental processes
  • Process orders for shipment in the ERP system and through the logistic shipping program
  • Ensure quality for orders packed and processed – appropriate packaging and correct address
  • Ability to learn and understand the products associated with all Product Lines
  • Additional responsibilities as requested or required by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); and 2 to 3 years of shipping and receiving experience in warehouse environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:

  • Forklift operation / safety certification

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required. Proficiency in ERP system such as Microsoft Dynamics AX12 is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee may frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch during shift. Employee will be required to regularly sit, use hand to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms. Employee must be able to occasionally lift, push, pull and or move up to 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position works in an environment with moderate noise levels.

TRAVEL:

  • No travel is required for this position.
