Missile Tracking Systems Engineer Scottsdale, AZ Pay Estimated: $68.12 - $73.12 /Hour Active Secret Clearance Required U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law We are hiring a Missile Tracking Systems Engineer in Scottsdale, AZ to support advanced missile tracking, satellite communications, and space defense systems within secure DoD environments. This role requires experience with communication traffic modeling, network simulation, RF communications protocols, satellite constellation architectures, packet routing, and systems engineering supporting mission-critical missile defense and distributed space systems. Responsibilities: * Perform systems engineering activities by decomposing requirements into detailed communication and traffic flow models. * Design and model satellite constellation-to-ground network data flows, including: * Throughput * Latency * Packet routing * Traffic prioritization * Support pre-planned and dynamic satellite scheduling and service allocation for missile tracking operations. * Analyze missile tracking data and communication performance metrics to validate and optimize network traffic models. * Support integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment activities for: * Ground entry points * Operations centers * Enterprise communication infrastructure * Contribute to systems architecture development and communication network engineering activities. * Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support secure missile defense and satellite communication capabilities. * Support troubleshooting, performance analysis, and operational readiness of distributed communication systems. * Assist with engineering documentation, technical analysis, and system integration activities supporting defense programs. Qualifications: * U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law. * Active Department of Defense Top Secret Security Clearance required at time of hire. * Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or related STEM discipline; or Master's degree with 2 years of related experience. * Minimum of 3 years of job-related engineering experience. * Experience with communication traffic modeling and network simulation. * Knowledge of satellite constellation architectures, including: * LEO (Low Earth Orbit) * MEO (Medium Earth Orbit) * GEO (Geosynchronous Earth Orbit) * Experience with RF communications protocols and distributed communication systems. * Understanding of end-to-end packet routing, prioritization, and communication performance analysis. * Experience with systems architecture and requirements decomposition. * Ability to support integration, deployment, and sustainment activities within secure defense environments. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with missile tracking systems architecture. * Knowledge of sensor fusion techniques. * Experience with satellite tasking and service scheduling logic. * Experience with cloud technologies supporting distributed system design. * Familiarity with image processing, collection, storage, and analysis workflows. * Experience supporting DoD space, missile defense, or satellite communications programs.
