FEDERAL INSPECTION STATION (FIS) AMBASSADOR- MULTI- LINGUAL
Job Summary
Southeast Airport Services, Inc. (SAS), a leading airport logistics service provider, is seeking dynamic, bilingual or multilingual professionals to serve as FIS Ambassadors. This role is critical to supporting international passenger processing at the Federal Inspection Station (FIS) by providing translation services, customer assistance, and passenger flow coordination in partnership with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and airport authorities.
Successful candidates must demonstrate professional level in English fluency (reading, writing, and speaking) and the following second language(s).

Scope of Responsibility
FIS Ambassadors work in Airside and Landside operational areas and serve as frontline support for international arriving passengers. Duties are performed in coordination with CBP Officers, GOAA staff, and SAS Supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide real-time language translation between international passengers and CBP Officers in passport control and secondary inspection areas.
  • Assist passengers with communication, directions, and general customer service throughout the FIS process.
  • Organize and manage passenger lines in passport control areas to ensure orderly flow.
  • Direct passengers to appropriate CBP booths and correct processing lines (U.S. Citizens vs. Visitors).
  • Ensure CBP and GOAA operational instructions and security procedures are followed at all times.
  • Complete required GOAA tracking documentation, including passenger counts, CBP booth activity, and first/last passenger processing records per flight.
  • Monitor passenger areas for safety, compliance, and service needs.
  • Communicate operational updates to SAS Supervisors and airport stakeholders as required.
  • Provide additional coverage support as needed for operational demands.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Schedule Requirements
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be available for shift changes based on flight schedules and operational needs.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to:
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Use hands and arms for reaching, handling, and assisting passengers.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interaction with the public.
  • Lift, push, pull, or carry up to 90 pounds or more when operationally necessary.
  • Maintain visual acuity for near, far, peripheral, and depth perception.
  • Demonstrate good hand-eye coordination.

Position Requirements / Qualifications
  • Professional fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Bilingual or multilingual proficiency strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Ability to work calmly and professionally in high-volume passenger environments.
  • Ability to follow strict security and confidentiality protocols.
  • Must be self-motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented.
  • Comfortable working around industrial and airport operational equipment.

Security amp; Compliance Requirements
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check and security clearance to obtain an airport badge.
  • Must comply with all TSA, CBP, GOAA, and SAS security regulations.
  • Must maintain eligibility to work in secure airport areas at all times.

Employment Eligibility Requirements
  • Valid government-issued identification.
  • Valid Social Security card or employment authorization.
  • Valid Passport or Certified Birth Certificate.
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Permanent Residents may be subject to additional CBP clearance requirements).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required airport credentials.

Work Environment
This position operates primarily in the Federal Inspection Station and Airside international arrival areas of the airport and requires continuous interaction with passengers, CBP Officers, and airport personnel.
