The Opportunity:
CACI, INC. - FEDERAL has a contract with a federal agency to implement, support, and maintain a mission-critical SAP S/4HANA solution supporting transportation and logistics operations for the Department of Defense. The CACI Team manages Planning, Procurement, Fulfillment, Financials, Application Development, and Technical Operations, including Security, GRC, and Identity & Access Management-within the Joint Transportation Management System (JTMS) environment.
CACI is seeking to hire an SAP Data Services Developer to implement the design, development, and optimization of enterprise data integration, data quality, and data migration solutions across the JTMS landscape. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP Data Services (BODS), strong ETL/ELT development skills, and proven experience delivering complex data warehousing and master data management projects. This role requires deep expertise in SAP Data Services and prior experience supporting USTRANSCOM (USTC) transportation operations, systems, or programs. The architect will ensure SAP Data Services capabilities align with DoD transportation doctrine, regulatory requirements (DTR, DoD FMR), and Clean Core principles while supporting complex integrations across DoD and commercial transportation ecosystems.
Responsibilities:
  • ETL Design & Development: Create, configure, and maintain robust Data Services workflows, dataflows, and data mappings to integrate data between SAP (ECC, S/4HANA, BW) and non-SAP systems.
  • Analyze business requirements to design and develop source-to-target mappings with transformation logic.
  • Implement data extraction routines from multiple source systems including SAP HANA tables and extractors.
  • Develop complex transformation logic including data cleansing and standardization routines and business rule implementation and validation.
  • Develop data profiling and assessment routines to analyze data patterns and distributions and identify data quality issues and anomalies.
  • Configure and integrate diverse sources including flat files, web services, APIs, cloud platforms, and non-SAP enterprise applications.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and debug job execution to resolve execution performance issues and identify bottlenecks.

Key Competencies
  • Deep SAP Data Services (BODS) expertise with advanced ETL/ELT architecture design
  • Expert-level proficiency in SAP Data Services Designer, Management Console, and Data Quality tools
  • Comprehensive knowledge of SAP S/4HANA data models, table structures, extractors, RFCs, and business processes (FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, HR)
  • Advanced SQL development, performance tuning, and database optimization skills
  • Experience with SAP HANA integration and pushdown optimization techniques.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • 10+ years of Data Integration/Warehousing with 5+ years in SAP Data Services development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of: SAP table structures, data models, extractors, and business processes across multiple modules, SAP Data Services Designer, performance tuning, pushdown optimization, and advanced transformations.

Integration & Architecture (Required)
  • Expert-level development in SAP Data Services Designer with complex transformations, data flows, and batch job design.
  • Deep understanding of ETL/ELT patterns, pushdown optimization, parallel processing, and performance tuning techniques.
  • Proven experience integrating SAP BW/4HANA, SAP HANA database, SAP MDG, and SAP Information Steward.
  • Expert-level performance tuning skills including SQL optimization, memory management, parallel processing configuration, and bottleneck identification.
  • Ability to adhere to strict development standards and conduct code reviews
  • Knowledge of SQL scripting, Shell scripting (Unix/Linux), and familiarity with ABAP for automation.
  • Ability to work individually (self-motivated) and within a team environment
