Role: Sr. ABAP Developer/SAP Senior Application Analyst
Location: Madison, WI
Type: Full Time
Sr. ABAP Developer/SAP Senior Application Analyst will work on business systems design and configuration, as well as upgrades and improvements for assigned technology platforms. As a primary support contact for SAP application end-users, the Senior SAP Application Analyst will work to identify issues that arise in the application area as well as issues that impact other application teams, and work to resolve them. The Senior Application Analyst will perform impact analysis of desired changes, build and test systems changes, and identify areas of improvement associated with platform performance and opportunities to enable business processes and requirements. The Senior Application Analyst will act as a mentor to junior analysts on the team, support questions, and may delegate activities to other analysts.
We are seeking an experienced SAP Developer with strengths in modern S/4HANA development, cloud-based extensibility, or both.
Skills & Experience needed:
  • Deep experience developing in SAP S/4HANA, including ABAP on HANA, object-oriented ABAP, and performance-optimized coding aligned with modern platform standards.
  • Strong hands-on background with CDS views, SQL optimization, and contemporary ABAP development patterns that support scalable, maintainable solutions.
  • Skilled in SAP RAP and Clean Core-aligned extensibility approaches to enable upgrade-safe, cloud-ready enhancements.
  • Proficient in SAP Fiori development, including Fiori Elements, Adapt UI/Extensions, and freestyle applications to support intuitive, user-centric workflows.
  • Experienced in S/4HANA upgrade readiness, including SPAU/SPDD remediation, SAP Notes implementation, and refactoring custom code for long-term compatibility.
  • Practical experience working within RISE with SAP and cloud-based SAP landscapes, supporting Exact Sciences' cloud-forward architecture.
  • Hands-on expertise with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), including Cloud Foundry and/or Kyma, to deliver scalable side-by-side extensions.
  • Strong foundation in SAP Integration Suite (CPI), Integration Mesh, and API-based integrations (REST, OData) across hybrid SAP/non-SAP environments.
  • Experience building cloud-native and side-by-side extensions using SAP CAP (Node.js or Java) to support modular, decoupled solution design.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures, asynchronous messaging, and API-first design principles that align with Exact Sciences' integration patterns.
  • Proficient with modern SAP development tools such as Eclipse/ADT and aligned with standard development practices.
  • Solid understanding of SAP Data Dictionary concepts and enterprise-grade development methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), with the ability to support configuration, testing, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
