Job description

Labcorp is seeking a Sample Management Technician to join our team in Greenfield, IN.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm or 6:00am - 2:30pm
Job Summary:
The Sample Management Technician is an entry-level role responsible for supporting test article and sample management activities within the Dose Formulation department. This position ensures materials are handled, documented, and stored in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), and applicable regulatory guidelines. No prior experience is required-training will be provided.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of sample management activities, including:
    • Shipping and receiving materials
    • Labeling, storing, and organizing samples
    • Inventory tracking and reconciliation
    • Sampling, transfers, archival, and disposal of materials
  • Assist with reviewing shipping documentation and verifying materials against protocols and internal systems
  • Support the coordination of study materials, including retrieval, check-out, and return processes
  • Accurately enter and maintain inventory data for client materials
  • Identify and communicate discrepancies to appropriate personnel
  • Respond to internal customer inquiries and support requests
  • Learn to maintain storage units in compliance with company procedures to ensure material integrity
  • Assist in organizing storage areas and maintaining proper conditions
  • Participate in on-call support for storage monitoring (e.g., alarm response), as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Follow all safety, GCP, GMP, and GLP requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates degree or higher in chemistry, biology, or related life science

Additional Job Standards:
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., data entry, Microsoft Office)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good communication and customer service abilities
  • Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records
  • Ability to learn quickly in a structured, regulated environment
  • Overtime, weekends, and on-call responsibilities may be required
  • Some schedule changes may occur with limited advance notice
