Nature & Purpose of Position
Title: Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) of Carbon and Glass Fibers
This project aims to develop innovative composite materials using (FDM) to enhance the mechanical and thermal properties required for demanding applications in industries. The primary objectives of this research include optimizing the formulation of composite materials using polypropylene (PP) pellets with varying ratios of glass fiber and carbon fiber,(ecoPLAS 3D201 and LX175 PLA). The student assistant will mix different rations of the pellets, make filaments using Filabot extruder, print samples and test mechanical and thermal properties.
