Carpenter Co. has an opening for a Salesforce Business Systems Analyst at our corporate office in Richmond, Virginia. This position is responsible for performing hands-on configuration, translating business needs into scalable technical solutions, and supporting minor development efforts.
Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As the successful candidate, you will be collaborating with the Salesforce Administrator to design and implement configuration changes including custom objects, fields, page layouts, flows, validation rules, and permission sets.
Your additional responsibilities as the Salesforce Business Systems Analyst will include:
Platform Configuration & Enhancements
  • Translate business requirements into functional and technical solutions that align with Salesforce best practices.
  • Design, build, optimize, and troubleshoot Salesforce Flows, applying Flow-trigger execution best practices to ensure scalable and efficient automation.
  • Assist with building and improving automated processes to increase efficiency across business teams.

Technical Support & Development
  • Provide hands-on support for enhancements requiring basic APEX, SOQL, or Lightning component awareness.
  • Partner with developers or external resources for advanced coding needs, providing clear technical requirements and testing support.
  • Troubleshoot platform issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and recommend long-term solutions.

Release, Testing & Documentation
  • Support release cycles by preparing configuration changes, participating in testing, and validating deployments.
  • Document processes, technical specifications, and configuration decisions.
  • Assist in developing training materials and supporting end-user adoption.

Data & Reporting
  • Conduct data analysis, manage data imports and updates, and help maintain data quality standards.
  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards that support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Collaboration
  • Work closely with the Salesforce Admin, business stakeholders, and IT teams to understand needs and deliver effective solutions.
  • Clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical users and translate user feedback into practical improvements.

Skills / Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Bus. Admin, Systems Engineering, or other related field.
  • 2+ years of Salesforce experience in an analyst, admin, or hybrid technical role.
  • Experience writing or modifying basic SOQL queries.
  • Salesforce Administrator certification or equivalent hands-on experience, preferred.
  • Experience with integrations, APIs, or middleware including MuleSoft, preferred.
  • Experience working in Agile environments, preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the Salesforce data model, security model, and core declarative tools, with extensive hands-on experience in Flow design, automation architecture, troubleshooting, and Flow-trigger best practices.
  • Ability to gather business requirements and convert them into technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with APEX triggers, classes, and Lightning concepts, preferred.
    • Ability to read and troubleshoot code; light development experience is a plus.
