What is a Salesforce Solution Consultant?

A Salesforce Solution Consultant is a professional who works with clients to understand their business needs and recommends customized Salesforce solutions to address those needs. They act as a bridge between the technical Salesforce team and the client, ensuring that proposed solutions are feasible and aligned with business goals. Their responsibilities often include analyzing business processes, designing system architectures, conducting product demonstrations, and supporting the sales team during the pre-sales process. They need a strong understanding of Salesforce products, excellent communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.

How does a Salesforce Solution Consultant typically collaborate with sales and technical teams during a client engagement?

Salesforce Solution Consultants play a crucial bridge role between sales, technical teams, and clients. They often partner with account executives to understand client needs, then work closely with solution architects and developers to design tailored Salesforce solutions. Throughout a project, Solution Consultants facilitate discovery workshops, create demos, and ensure proposed solutions align with both business goals and technical feasibility. This collaborative environment requires strong communication, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Salesforce Solution Consultant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Salesforce Solution Consultant, you need a deep understanding of Salesforce products, CRM best practices, and business analysis, often supported by a degree in information systems or related fields. Proficiency with Salesforce Cloud platforms, relevant Salesforce certifications (such as Salesforce Certified Administrator or Consultant), and experience with integration tools are typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and client management skills help consultants effectively gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions. These competencies ensure successful project delivery, strong client relationships, and optimal use of Salesforce technologies to drive business outcomes.

Job description

Salesforce Solution Consultant (Business Analyst / Solution Expert)

Location: Plano, Texas (Preferred) / Remote USA Employment Type: Full-time

Bridge Business & Technology. Shape Solutions. Deliver More—Together. At mindZvue, Salesforce Solution Consultants sit at the intersection of business strategy and platform execution. You will own discovery, define solutions, and guide implementation teams — all while working directly with US-based clients across industries including manufacturing, financial services, and hi-tech. This is a consulting role with real ownership: you will lead workshops, author solution documents, and shape how Salesforce is deployed to solve meaningful business problems.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead business discovery sessions and requirements workshops with client stakeholders, capturing business goals, pain points, and success criteria.
  • Translate business requirements into Salesforce solution designs spanning Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Revenue Cloud, and custom platform configurations.
  • Author business requirement documents (BRDs), functional specifications (FSDs), process flows, data models, and solution architecture diagrams.
  • Collaborate with Salesforce Architects and Developers to ensure solution feasibility, scalability, and alignment with platform best practices.
  • Configure and customize the Salesforce platform: custom objects, fields, flows, validation rules, reports, dashboards, and automation.
  • Drive UAT planning, execution, and business sign-off, ensuring delivered solutions meet client expectations.
  • Support change management and user adoption through training materials, documentation, and enablement sessions.
  • Manage requirements backlog and participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, grooming, and retrospectives.
  • Proactively identify risks, gaps, and dependencies — recommend mitigation strategies to project leadership.
  • Contribute to pre-sales efforts including scoping, estimation, and solution presentations for prospective clients.

Requirements:

What We Are Looking For:

Experience: 4–7 years of experience as a Salesforce Business Analyst, Solution Consultant, or Techno-Functional Consultant. 2+ years of hands-on Salesforce configuration/administration experience. Prior external consulting or SI delivery experience is strongly preferred. Experience across multiple Salesforce Clouds (Sales, Service, Experience, Revenue Cloud) in implementation contexts.

Functional & Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities, data model, security model, and automation tools (Flows, Process Builder, Approval Processes). Experience with business process mapping, requirement elicitation, and stakeholder workshops. Proficiency with documentation and collaboration tools: Jira, Confluence, Miro, Lucidchart, MS Office / Google Workspace. Working knowledge of Salesforce integrations, APIs, and data migration concepts. Exposure to Agentforce, Data Cloud, or Revenue Cloud Advanced is a significant plus. Familiarity with SQL, relational databases, and basic data analysis.

Certifications (Required / Preferred): Required: Salesforce Administrator OR Salesforce Business Analyst Certification Preferred: Salesforce Advanced Administrator, Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant, or Platform App Builder

Consulting & Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and executive audiences. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Comfortable leading client-facing meetings and navigating ambiguity. Self-directed with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
