This role sits within the Technology Services Team - a multi-talented group of individuals supporting clients and employees end-to-end on leading healthcare and business management technology as well as cybersecurity and infrastructure. You'll have an opportunity to engage with downstream systems including Workday, our EMR, and more. Of course, you'll be hands-on across multiple Salesforce Clouds including Sales, Service, Health, and Experience Clouds.

As a Salesforce Developer on this team, you'll get the chance to build multiple enterprise-level, custom Salesforce applications and hold a role as a key contributor to enabling our organizational transformation. What You'll Do:

The Salesforce Developer (that's you!) will be responsible for designing and implementing complex Salesforce solutions - including functional requirements, coding, support and agile team principles and leadership. This opportunity requires deep application development skills, writing and collaboration, and strong communication skills. The focus will be on creating and improving Salesforce products that enable our customers and enterprise users to be successful on the platform. This position will require working in a small team of individuals focused on core development tasks and collaborating with product owners. You'll also have an opportunity to work with third-party developer teams when acceleration is required.

As the successful candidate you will...

  • Progressively learn the Medcan operations and the healthcare field more broadly.
  • Design and implement systems in Salesforce to support automation of our CRM, IT, and customer support processes.
  • Participate in storyboard and solution design sessions - recommend alternative approaches and best practices, define technical impact, and provide sizing estimates.
  • Participate in the full SDLC from technical design to development, testing and deployment.
  • Design, build, test and deploy Salesforce Platform solutions that may include form point-and click configurations, workflows and flows, APEX triggers, Custom Web Services, VisualForce pages, Lightning (Aura and LWC).
  • Design and build Interfaces between Salesforce Platform and other applications.
  • Provide support and administrative assistance to existing Salesforce Applications.
  • Participate in the estimation and timeline process.

What You'll Need:

  • SFDC Platform Developer I certification (minimum)
  • 7+ years of experience as a SF Developer with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Health Cloud, and Experience Cloud. Marketing Cloud experience a bonus.
  • Excellent overall development skills throughout the SDLC with a preference for Agile methodology.
  • Knowledge of Web Services, REST, XML and outbound messaging.
  • Development experience with Apex, Visualforce, webservices, Lightning components, Azure/.Net/Javascript competencies
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver well-structured and documented code.
  • Experience with Salesforce DevOps tools (e.g. Salesforce DX, Git, Bitbucket, VsCode).
  • Experience working on and deploying complex enterprise level solutions.
  • Highly organized, deadline-driven individual with a "can do" attitude
  • Ability to support internal resources that require Salesforce education and support
  • You're a people person, despite living in code. We're looking for empathetic teammates who lead with kindness and positivity.

Bonus skills:

  • SFDC Platform Developer II certification, Platform App Builder, Service, Sales, or other consultant certifications.
  • Experience running dev/ops and release management

  • Experience with ETL tools (at least one of: Dell Boomi, Azure, Informatica, Oracle Data Integrator, MS SSIS), data migration and data cleansing

Please note this role will have an extensive real time coding assessment by the technical team.

This is a full-time hybrid position (2 days in office) working 40 hours per week based on business needs between regular office hours Monday - Friday (9:00 am to 5:30 pm).

Our downtown Toronto clinic is conveniently located at 150 York St., which is nearby St. Andrew station or a 10-minute walk from Union Station!

Position Pay Range

$82,543.00 - $113,495.50 CAD annually

Pay will be determined based on an analysis of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications within the role's compensation grade. Medcan's compensation ranges are determined by a combination of required qualifications and skills, market value, and internal equity. The above range pertains solely to the base compensation and is not inclusive of additional compensation details such as perks, benefits, and potential bonuses or incentives.
