This role is a chance to make a real impact as part of a collaborative, fast-moving team within Amphenol's decentralized culture, where ideas are heard, initiative is encouraged, and teams are empowered to make decisions with clear accountability.

Job Description:

As a Salesforce Engineer, you will be the technical backbone of our Salesforce ecosystem, acting as the go-to resource for its architecture, integration, and ongoing evolution. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and platform expertise, blending hands-on development, integration engineering, and solution design with fluency across the broader Salesforce product suite, including Service Cloud and Experience Cloud, and Einstein/Agentforce AI capabilities embedded within the service. You will be responsible for extending, troubleshooting, and hardening of the Salesforce platform by building custom functionality where native capability falls short, and ensuring our Salesforce environment is reliable, scalable, and tightly integrated with the surrounding technology ecosystem, including Microsoft products, ServiceNow and other enterprise API integrations.

The ideal candidate is a builder first: comfortable writing Apex, Lightning components, and SOQL, fluent in SOAP/REST API integration patterns, and equally capable of digging into a broken flow, a failed integration, or a performance issue and resolving it at the root cause. You bring genuine curiosity about emerging AI technologies and know how to apply Salesforce's native AI capabilities, and AI tooling more broadly, to automate manual work, streamline processes, and make the platform easier for the business to use. You will partner closely with business departments to translate project and enhancement requirements into scalable, well-engineered solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary technical resource for the Salesforce platform, covering architecture, development, integrations, and day-to-day platform health across Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and connected systems.
  • Design, build, and maintain custom Apex classes, triggers, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and custom objects/apps to extend platform capability beyond native configuration.
  • Configure and extend core Salesforce clouds, including Service Cloud and Experience Cloud, and evaluate new platform offerings and modules as business needs evolve.
  • Apply Salesforce's native AI capabilities (e.g., Einstein/Agentforce features, predictive and generative tools) alongside broader AI/automation technologies to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve ease of use for end users.
  • Develop and troubleshoot integrations built on SOAP and REST APIs, including the Outlook/email integration, ensuring reliable, secure data exchange between Salesforce and connected systems.
  • Extend, debug, and re-engineer solutions delivered by the implementation vendor as business needs evolve, reducing long-term dependency on external resources.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex platform issues through root-cause analysis, from integration failures and data anomalies to performance and governor-limit constraints.
  • Partner directly with business departments to gather project and enhancement requirements, then translate them into scalable technical designs rather than one-off configuration.
  • Act as the technical liaison between business stakeholders, vendors, and application teams, ensuring solutions are engineered to standard and aligned with the broader IT architecture.
  • Drive platform quality through code reviews, deployment/release management, sandbox strategy, and adherence to Salesforce development best practices.
  • Lead technical evaluation of new Salesforce features, AppExchange packages, AI/automation tooling, and integration opportunities, recommending build vs. configure vs. buy approaches.
  • Maintain technical documentation for custom development, integrations, and system architecture to support long-term platform sustainability.
  • Support production issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives, proactively identifying platform risks before they impact users.
  • Train users with Salesforce features and capabilities and, mentor team with development, configuration, and integration, best practices.
  • Proactive Problem-Solving: Identifies critical platform and integration needs and takes decisive, engineering-led action to resolve them effectively and efficiently.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Actively explores new Salesforce capabilities and integration patterns, proactively identifying opportunities to modernize and strengthen the platform.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Demonstrates a deep understanding of end-user and departmental needs, anticipating and exceeding expectations to drive satisfaction with the platform.
  • Analytical and Solution-Oriented: Applies systematic, engineering-grade problem-solving methodologies to complex technical challenges, consistently delivering effective, scalable solutions.
  • Learning Agility and Continuous Development: Proactively investigates root causes of issues, fosters a culture of learning from experience, and continually expands technical depth and scope of ownership.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on Salesforce experience spanning both development and platform ownership, ideally supporting Service Cloud in a production enterprise environment.
  • University Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on engineering experience.
  • Strong hands-on proficiency in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, SOQL/SOSL, and native Salesforce scripting.
  • Demonstrated experience building and troubleshooting integrations using SOAP and REST APIs, including experience with Outlook or other email/calendar integration.
  • Solid understanding of Service Cloud capabilities (case management, omni-channel, knowledge, CTI) and how to extend them through custom development.
  • Working knowledge of configuring other Salesforce platform offerings such as Experience Cloud, and comfort picking up new clouds/modules as the platform footprint grows.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce's native AI functionality (Einstein, Agentforce, or equivalent) and a demonstrated ability to harness AI and emerging automation technologies to simplify processes and improve the end-user experience.
  • Experience taking over and evolving solutions originally built by an implementation vendor, including reverse-engineering existing configuration and code.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce data model design, security architecture, and governor limits, with the judgment to know when native configuration is sufficient versus when custom engineering is required.
  • Experience with release/deployment management tools (e.g., Salesforce DX, Gearset, Copado, or change sets) and sandbox strategy.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent enhancement requests, from simple fixes to complex, multi-system solutions.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with a root-cause mindset rather than a workaround mindset.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I/II and/or Service Cloud Consultant certification is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (required), with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with insurance or financial services lifecycle processes (lead to policy servicing), CTI, or SSO is an asset.

Experience mentoring other developers and establishing coding standards and best practices is an asset.

Why Join Amphenol?
