Req ID: 137318
Remote Position: Hybrid
Region: Americas
Country: Canada
State/Province: Ontario
City:  Toronto

Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Salesforce Developer with strong Marketing Cloud expertise to join our Salesforce Center of Excellence. This is a hands-on solutioning and development role - the successful candidate will personally analyze requirements, design solutions, and build and implement them through configuration and code. Following the partner-led implementation of our Marketing Cloud platform, this role takes technical ownership of the delivered solution - maintaining and operating what has been built, reviewing the implementation against Salesforce best practices, ensuring long-term supportability, and solutioning and implementing ongoing enhancements directly. Marketing Cloud experience (Marketing Cloud Next, Data Cloud-native) is a must, and experience with CRM Analytics (CRMA) and Manufacturing Cloud is strongly preferred.

Detailed Description

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Personally solution and implement Salesforce changes end to end - analyze requirements, design the solution, and build it hands-on through configuration and code (Apex, Lightning Web Components, flows).
  • Serve as the technical lead and senior subject-matter authority for the Marketing Cloud platform, owning technical standards, design decisions, and the enhancement roadmap.
  • Take technical ownership of the partner-delivered Marketing Cloud solution - maintaining, operating, and continuously improving it once initial deployment by the external SI is complete.
  • Review the delivered implementation against Salesforce best practices, identify gaps or technical debt, and lead remediation to ensure the system is sound, scalable, and supportable.
  • Work hands-on in Marketing Cloud Next - building and maintaining segmentation, journeys, content, and activation natively on Salesforce Data Cloud.
  • Translate business requirements from stakeholders and the Business Transformation leader into technical designs, enhancements, and new capabilities focused on marketing engagement and customer data.
  • Operate and govern sending infrastructure: branded subdomains, domain authentication (SPF/DKIM/DMARC), deliverability, and consent/preference management.
  • Maintain and enhance customer data flows and integrations between Marketing Cloud Next, Data Cloud, and source systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365).
  • Own and run a modern Salesforce DevOps practice using Gearset - version control, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, environment strategy, and metadata backup/restore.
  • Develop and maintain Apex, Lightning Web Components, flows, custom objects, fields, and validation rules according to evolving requirements, applying sound architectural and coding standards.
  • Define and enforce development standards, code-review practices, and organization-wide protocols for proper use of Salesforce across teams and partners.
  • Maintain system security including sharing rules, role hierarchies, and field-level security, and ensure all changes follow Celestica internal processes.
  • Evaluate and operationalize emerging Salesforce capabilities (including Agentforce / AI-assisted marketing), and lead seasonal release readiness across Marketing Cloud and connected clouds.
  • Where an external SI is engaged for new workstreams, provide technical oversight, quality-assure delivery, review SOWs, and hold partners to delivery and documentation standards.
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to admins, developers, and analysts within the CoE.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, reports, dashboards, and standard operating procedures.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
  • Proven experience as a Salesforce technical lead or senior developer - owning technical design, setting standards, and providing direction to teams and external partners.
  • Hands-on experience delivering and operating Salesforce Marketing Cloud is required, with Marketing Cloud Next strongly preferred (Data Cloud-native segmentation, journeys, and activation).
  • Practical experience with email/landing-page delivery, branded subdomain setup, domain authentication, deliverability, and consent/preference management.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer 1 (PD1) and Platform Developer 2 (PD2) certifications are required.
  • A Marketing Cloud certification (Administrator, Email Specialist, or Consultant) is strongly preferred.
  • Data Cloud certification is a strong plus.
  • Strong command of Salesforce architecture, security model, and development tools (Apex, Aura Components, SOQL, Lightning Web Components).
  • Proficiency in declarative automation tools (Flow Builder, Lightning App Builder, etc.).
  • Experience with DevOps processes (e.g., Agile) and tools such as Gearset, Azure DevOps, Copado, etc.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills, with the ability to lead and influence across marketing, sales, and IT.
  • Ability to work independently and as the technical anchor for a team.
  • Experience with CRM Analytics (CRMA) and Manufacturing Cloud is strongly preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
