Job description

Sales Support Specialist

We're looking for a highly organized, commercially minded, and proactive Sales Support Specialist to join our Mass & Value Sales team.

This role is a key partner to the Custom Proprietary & Value (CPV) and Mass teams, helping drive the success of our business across major retail and value channels.

This is not your typical administrative role. It's a fast-moving position that blends sales support, analytics, customer operations, creative problem-solving, and project execution. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and external retail partners to help bring bestselling books and innovative publishing products to shelves and readers everywhere.

Key Responsibilities

A. Mass & Value Sales Support

  • Support Mass, Value, and CPV business channels through day-to-day sales and operational execution
  • Prepare materials for customer meetings, line reviews, presentations, and business updates
  • Create compelling PowerPoint presentations, sales tools, recaps, and customer-facing materials
  • Manage item setup requirements, metadata accuracy, and retailer-specific documentation
  • Assist with promotional planning, sales tracking, and execution of key retail initiatives
  • Coordinate timelines and follow-ups across teams to ensure seamless project execution
  • Support special projects and new business initiatives

B. Analytics & Business Operations

  • Run and maintain recurring sales reports, forecasting tools, and business analysis
  • Analyze sales trends, customer performance, and operational data to support decisions
  • Assist with inventory tracking, order management, and stock monitoring
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains
  • Work within retailer systems and portals to support ongoing operations
  • Maintain accurate and organized reporting and documentation

C. Process & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner with Sales Operations, Customer Service, Publishing, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams
  • Manage tracking documents, timelines, and workflow processes
  • Coordinate materials and communication for customer programs and launches
  • Support order processing and follow-up activities
  • Ensure accuracy, responsiveness, and strong follow-through across all work

D. Team & Customer Support

  • Respond to customer and internal requests in a timely, professional manner
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and retail partners
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and solutions-oriented team environment
  • Bring creativity, curiosity, and a commercial mindset to problem-solving

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1–3 years of experience in sales support, operations, administration, or customer-facing roles
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and follow-up abilities
  • Comfortable working with data, systems, and operational processes
  • Self-starter with strong ownership and execution mindset
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and positive team player
  • Interest in retail, publishing, or consumer products

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree
