Summary:

The General Sales Manager will lead the dealership's sales operations with a focus on growth, profitability, and customer experience.

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for shaping sales strategy, developing top-performing teams, and ensuring seamless alignment across departments.

The ideal candidate brings proven executive-level leadership skills and the vision to help drive the continued success of one of the nation's premier Audi dealerships.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the sales department to achieve unit volume, gross profit, and overall financial objectives on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis.
  • Partner with dealership leadership to develop and execute sales strategies that maximize market share and profitability.
  • Forecast monthly and yearly sales performance, including departmental goals, unit sales mix, and gross objectives.
  • Work closely with individual sales managers and associates to set targets, review results, and implement improvement plans.
  • Conduct daily and weekly sales meetings to align the team on performance goals, strategy, and customer engagement best practices.
  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring proper mix and age of new and pre-owned vehicles to support sales velocity and profitability.
  • Collaborate with Service and F&I leadership to deliver a seamless, customer-first sales and ownership experience.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and mentor sales managers and associates, building a strong pipeline of future leaders.
  • Monitor performance metrics and commission structures to ensure fair, motivating, and performance-driven compensation plans.
  • Champion factory programs, brand standards, and compliance initiatives to deliver a premium Audi experience.
  • Maintain accountability for safety, compliance, and professional development across the sales department.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive dealership leadership experience, including time as a General Sales Manager or Sales Director.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, high-performing sales teams while driving profitability, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
  • Strong business acumen with experience in sales strategy, financial performance, inventory management, and cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Exceptional leadership presence with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop future leaders.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to make data-driven decisions and adapt quickly in a dynamic retail environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with both customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA and able to pass pre-employment screenings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Audi brand experience is preferred.
