Job description

The Blueprint (Role Profile)

The Area Sales Manager will manage a team of Industrial Territory Sales Managers, covering the Texas region. This role reports directly to the Regional Sales Director and interacts regularly with Company Leadership, Channel, Product and Brand Marketing, Operations, Specialists and other support functions, as well as end-users and customers. The ideal candidate will be based in the Texas territory and be able to travel approximately 30-50%, depending on where they are located.

The Build (Responsibilities)
  • Hire, coach, and motivate a team of two Territory Sales Managers
  • Achieve company objectives through effective planning, setting sales goals, analyzing performance data, and projecting future performance
  • Continuously develop personal leadership, hiring, and training skills while ensuring the team is using effective sales tactics to meet revenue objectives
  • Generate leads, and build and nurture client relationships
  • Partner with Territory Sales Managers to meet with their customers and grow long-lasting relationships by understanding their needs
  • Track, analyze, and communicate key quantitative metrics and business trends as they relate to customer relationships
  • Increase sales and improve customer service to existing account base, while prospecting new customers and growing market share within the territory.
  • Develop regional countermeasures with region if behind plan
  • Motivate & build strong team to consistently deliver forecast and exceed sales targets
  • Obtain and maintain excellent knowledge of ATG and competitor products and prices
  • Strong process orientation for funnel management and selling process for completing reports summarizing accurate forward looking estimates of sales volume
  • Communicate throughout the organization - sales, marketing and operations as necessary to  support and develop business
The Toolbox (Qualifications)
  • BS in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field sales equivalence of 5 to 10 years
  • Distribution and end-user territory management experience required in a relative industry
  • National Account and/or Channel Marketing desired
  • Prior management experience is required
  • Proven track record of success the sales cycle from plan to close
  • Value based sales leadership experience with a demonstrated track record of sales growth
  • Intrinsically motivated, results oriented and able to work collaboratively
  • Ability to influence and drive approval from various stake holders at all levels
  • Travel 30-50% plus overnights

This position's anticipated annual salary range is $88,000 - $144,000 with a Salary Incentive Plan; at plan, this position's additional incentive opportunity is 31%.
