Job description

HR Operations Program Manager

We are seeking an HR Operations Program Manager to drive critical People Team programs and operational efficiencies across the HR function at Redwood Materials. This role focuses on building scalable, technology-enabled processes that align with the company's growth and increasing organizational maturity. Partnering closely with HR, HRIS, Total Rewards, and Recruiting teams, the Program Manager will leverage platforms such as Workday to automate workflows, streamline operations, and enable teams to focus on higher-impact, strategic work.

This role will own and continuously improve core HR programs, including Leaves of Absence, Accommodations, Workers' Compensation, and Annual Performance Reviews. Key priorities include reviewing and stabilizing HR business processes, developing clear leaves guidelines and SOPs, revamping the employee and manager onboarding experience, and enhancing the HR ticketing system to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead administration of all leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, state-specific leaves, parental leave, disability, and company-sponsored leave policies
  • Lead administration of Worker's Compensation program
  • Support employment-based immigration programs (e.g., H-1B, PERM, green card sponsorships, and internal transfers)
  • Build scalable processes and documentation for all assigned programs
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR/People teams and other departments (e.g., IT, Finance) to ensure successful program implementation and adoption
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related inquiries, escalating issues and roadblocks as necessary to ensure projects are delivered
  • All other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or field of study relevant to the job
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience, Knowledge of HR and/or project management
  • 3+ years of experience managing LOAs or building leaves/worker's compensation processes. Experience in California, Nevada, and South Carolina preferred
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, and immigration compliance requirements
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Deep proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Project Management tools (Smartsheet, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Experience with project management execution; managing complex, cross-functional projects
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
