Title: Safety Manager

Overview:

Global Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures, and modular metal enclosures for housing fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. We have recently moved operations into a newly renovated 300,000 sq. foot facility that will foster our continued growth as we continue to be recognized as the undisputed leaders in our industry. As a result of our expansion, we are looking for a Safety Manager to join our growing safety team.

Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Safety Manager to join our dynamic team. The Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive safety program to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety management, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a well-developed, dedicated Safety Team across multiple facilities, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, implement, and improve safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety and process audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Provide training and education for employees
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for corrective actions. Execute and document actions.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records for all safety functions.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety in the workplace.
  • Enforce safe behavior and workplace practices
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in safety management. Review all processes and procedures to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management or a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A certificate in safety management (e.g., CSP, ASP) is preferred.
  • The ability to maintain good working relationships with the Production Department, Safety Team, Quality Team, HR, and Upper Management is a MUST
