Job description

The Pricing Analyst reports to the pricing manager and is responsible for reporting on various business metrics, analyzing those metrics to provide actionable recommendations to product and sales leaders, and supporting automation and optimization of pricing processes and systems.

Job Description
  • Provide monthly and quarterly reports on key pricing metrics for each product line, sales team, and market segment, utilizing financial reporting and custom analytics.
  • Identify pricing trends, risks, opportunities, and proposed actions to improve performance.
  • Present to product leaders and sales leaders.
  • Improve reporting efficiency and accuracy through automation and optimization of reporting processes, systems, and tools.
  • Provide analytical support to the pricing team on individual deals, including collecting customer financial and operational information, current and historic prices, and competitive information, in order to prepare price-to-win proposals.
  • Provide analytical support to the pricing team on quarterly and yearly changes in pricing and packaging for each product line and for each region/market.
  • Maintain product and pricing configuration, including product hierarchy, product attributes and options, price lists, and business rules in the CPQ tool.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to product and pricing configuration and master data.
  • Manage product and pricing release cycles, including gathering requirements from the pricing team, product managers, and finance.
  • Implement product and price changes in the master data within the development, test, and production environments.
  • Perform end-to-end user acceptance testing (UAT), and manage UAT with the relevant business owners for all product and pricing changes in Salesforce.com.
Job Requirements
  • A bachelorโ€™s degree in economics, finance, or accounting.
  • Five-plus yearsโ€™ experience (or three-plus years with advanced degree) with pricing or financial analysis, preferably within the business services industry.
  • Ability to construct and understand complex financial models, and to translate analyses into understandable conclusions and prescriptive recommendations.
  • Ability to create advanced reports and dashboards in Excel and in Salesforce.com, including integration of data from multiple sources and effective visualization of results.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Highly detail oriented with a demonstrated ability to solve problems and use analytical thinking.
  • Comfort and experience in working in crossโ€‘functional projects with product, sales, information technology, and corporate finance.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Preferred qualifications: An MS degree in finance or an MBA degree is a plus.
  • Experience in SaaS based pricing and modeling is a plus.
  • Experience with Tableau or other data visualization software is a plus.
  • Experience with CPQ software (Salesforce CPQ, etc.) and/or with pricing analytics software (PROS, Vendavo, etc.) is a plus.

Base salary range: $72,000 - $118,000
