Position Summary

The Solutions Consultant is a customer-facing member of the Professional Services team who helps nonprofit organizations solve fundraising, operational, and system challenges. This role combines nonprofit expertise, consultative problem-solving, and hands-on system experience to design practical solutions, guide advanced customers, and strengthen how Professional Services delivers repeatable services.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Virtuous expert, with a thorough understanding of the Virtuous suite of products and the ability to clearly communicate complex functionality to customers and internal teams.
  • Lead consulting sessions to understand customer goals, evaluate current processes, identify challenges, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Understand nonprofit fundraising goals and translate them into scalable solutions across the Virtuous platform.
  • Advise customers on responsive fundraising practices and how to use automation, segmentation, and personalization to strengthen donor retention and lifetime value.
  • Design end-to-end donor engagement journeys that incorporate digital channels, responsive automation, and actionable insights.
  • Assess customers’ broader system landscapes and advise how Virtuous should connect with or work alongside other platforms.
  • Design and configure customer solutions, including automations, reports and dashboards, receipt templates, and giving forms.
  • Deliver advanced, role-based training and create supporting guides, documentation, and customer resources.
  • Manage assigned Professional Services engagements, including scope, billable hours, timelines, deliverables, and customer communication.
  • Document successful solutions, configurations, and best practices in a shared repository for future use by the Professional Services team.
  • Identify recurring customer needs and recommend improvements to existing Professional Services offerings or opportunities for new offerings.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success, Sales, Onboarding, Product, Development, and other Professional Services team members to support successful customer outcomes.

You Must Have

  • Five or more years of relevant experience, including working in or consulting for nonprofit organizations, with a strong understanding of fundraising operations and donor engagement.
  • Hands-on experience administering, configuring, or consulting in a nonprofit CRM, fundraising, or marketing automation platform.
  • Consultative problem-solving experience, including translating customer needs into practical system and process solutions and configuring workflows, automations, reports, forms, or similar tools.
  • Experience delivering technical or process training to customers with different levels of technical knowledge.
  • Comfort working with data, spreadsheets, queries, reporting tools, and business intelligence concepts.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and documentation skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple billable customer engagements, competing priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort using AI tools responsibly to research, analyze, document, and improve solutions.
  • The ability to travel occasionally for customer engagements.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with Virtuous CRM and related Virtuous products.
  • Experience working across multiple nonprofit systems, including integrations, APIs, and how data moves between platforms.
  • Professional Services, nonprofit technology consulting, SaaS implementation, or customer enablement experience.
  • Experience developing service offerings, delivery playbooks, or internal solution repositories.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS for building and customizing receipt and email templates, giving forms, and other customer-facing assets. Familiarity with SQL is also helpful.
