Job description

Position details: Multiple open‑rank faculty positions in the Department of Neurosurgery at Rutgers Health and Rutgers Brain Health Institute (BHI). Positions are open for Instructor, Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor ranks.

Salary range: $120,000 to $350,000. Final salary will be based on qualifications, experience, and funding availability.

Rutgers University Department of Neurosurgery at Robert Wood Johnson and New Jersey Medical Schools and Rutgers Brain Health Institute (BHI) seeks to recruit outstanding federally funded faculty to help execute our mission of building a world‑class translational neuroscience research program. The scientific focus includes epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, movement disorders, memory dysfunction, psychiatric disorders, cancer, neuromodulation, gene and cell therapy, metabolism, epigenetics, in vivo recording, and neuroimaging. BHI is an interdisciplinary institute with >300 principal investigators across Rutgers campuses.

Qualifications
  • PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree with demonstrated ability to lead an independent, federally funded research program in the areas above.
  • For Assistant Professor rank, K99/R00 or equivalent and a rigorous extramurally funded research program.
  • For Associate or Full Professor rank, established federal grant portfolio transferable to Rutgers.
  • Preferred: additional related research experience in any of the mission areas.
