Position Summary
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will perform informatics-related studies and trials proposed and managed by UNC Health. UNC Health has numerous data and analytic assets that require study e.g., AI tools for physician use to determine whether they are well suited to be used in care. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will collaborate closely with stakeholders within UNC Health to (1) design studies and create analysis plans, (2) develop and submit IRB and/or trial registration protocols, (3) perform analyses of study data using a wide variety of data science and epidemiological methods, and (4) write and publish manuscripts and other dissemination artifacts. This position will be under the supervision of Dr. Emily Pfaff.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
PhD in clinical or health informatics
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
The candidate should be proficient in study design, epidemiological methods, scientific computing (inc. proficiency with Python/R), data science methods (esp. machine learning), electronic health record data, cloud computing tools, and geospatial analysis techniques. The candidate should also possess excellent verbal and writing skills. Ability to work independently but also in close interaction within a team are crucial. Must be able to think and work within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
The preferred candidate will also have experience with target trial emulation methods.
