Job Description:

Microchip Technology Inc. has an opening for an Associate Fellow to lead Systems Architecture with our OEM partners. As an Associate Fellow in the Microchip Data Center Solutions (DCS) group, you will be responsible for setting the direction for a diverse portfolio of products for the Data Center market. Working side-by-side with some of the brightest minds and most innovative engineers in the industry, you will be given an opportunity to work on a team where your contributions matter.

The candidate must have a background in defining emerging customer architectures and trends and synthesizing them into technology and product direction. The areas would pertain to compute and storage infrastructure in data center and enterprise storage markets, including but not limited to switching, high speed interconnect, memory attachment and security. The ideal candidate can work closely with internal and external customers and stakeholders and the engineering teams to develop our next generation products. The right candidate will take a leadership role in understanding the customer and system level requirements. The candidate must be able to thrive in high pressure situations and be able to provide direction to engineering teams to take the right actions.

Responsibilities

  • Proven, inspiring leader with expertise in technology, ideally storage, memory or compute facing products is highly desirable.
  • A proactive and creative attitude and approach. Someone who is proven to have "out of the box" thinking that drives innovation. The ability to "see around corners" and "connect the dots".
  • Maintain an understanding of select competitors, their organizations, constructs, financial results and strategic intent.
  • Help to define and position Microchip - DCS brand and competitive advantage in the marketplace.
  • Experienced at planning and preparing materials and presentation material for meetings with executive leadership teams, board meetings, customers or clients.
  • Ability to translate (develop & write) core product vision, priorities, and plan into compelling, essential messaging for executives, board decks, executive emails and C-level presentations.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking with a proven ability to analyze markets, performance data, business issues and to draw insights and conclusions.
  • Skilled in strategy development, including project scoping, hypotheses development, financial and business modeling, strategic options' identification, consensus building, and implementation.
  • Function as a team player, discrete, high-energy, agile-minded, strategic, proactive, a clear communicator, highly organized and committed to the vision and values of Microchip.
  • Demonstrated operational rigor and the ability to lead large scale initiatives across a global organization with experience in driving cross-functional initiatives at the highest levels of a complex organization and ecosystem business.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
  • 15+ years of relevant industry experience in developing product strategies for storage and compute-based products.
  • Knowledge of major OEM and ODM ecosystems (e.g., Dell, HPE) is beneficial.
  • Strategic leader with extensive experience in setting product direction.
  • Experience with synthesizing market data into relevance to DCS strategic plan.
  • Ability to understand and engage customers at an architecture and business level.
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to build strong and deep relationships both within the team and across the organization to drive results.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and experience addressing and influencing C level and senior management.
  • Strong results orientation with a dedicated partner focus, proven attention to detail and quality.
  • Collaborative team player who is also an independent thinker.

  • Accomplished leader, with a diverse set of experiences in operations, consulting, strategy, analytics and finance.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity, with a blend of analytical intelligence and strategic vision.
  • Ability to synthesize complex data & analysis into recommendations for business strategy & tactics.
  • Ability to develop a point of view and bring others along, while remaining open minded.
  • Strong executive presence- ease with executive-level interactions.
  • Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.

Benefits of working at Microchip

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $150,000 - $260,000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
