Job description

We are currently looking for a Full Time Museum Language Specialist to join our Event Operations Visitor Service team located at the Chickasaw Cultural Center.
Summary:
Primarily responsible for increasing the usage of Chickasaw language throughout the CCC campus for visitor and team education.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for implementing language opportunities to visitors of the CCC, through tours and specialty programs
* Create and implement language curriculum for Culture Center team
* Assist with proper language usage in exhibits, programs and signage
* Familiarize patrons and tour groups with the Chickasaw culture and traditions
* Provides tours and guidance to various size of groups that visit the Chickasaw Cultural Center
* Act as an informal Ambassador for the Chickasaw Cultural Center
* Serve as a language resource specialist to visitors and team members of the CCC
* Provide language lessons on campus and offsite
* Ongoing engagement with the Chickasaw Language Revitalization Program, including weekly immersion sessions, co-work at events, programs and conferences
* All other duties as assigned
Competencies:
Essential:
* Follow instructions, written or oral
* Adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements
* Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability
* Read, understand and apply regulations and policies
* Establishes professional working relationships
* Communicates verbally with team, departments, guests and management
Skills:
Essential:
* Basic Computer skills
* Conversant in Chickasaw
* Ability to teach the Chickasaw language
* Ability to create programming and educational language opportunities
Experience:
Essential:
* No prior experience required.
Education:
Essential:
* High School, GED or Equivalent
Nonessential:
* Associates Degree in directly related field
Credentials:
Essential:
* Standard Driver's License
