Run Coach information

How does a run coach typically collaborate with athletes and other professionals to create effective training plans?

A Run Coach works closely with athletes to assess their abilities, goals, and any physical limitations before designing personalized training programs. They often collaborate with nutritionists, physiotherapists, and sometimes strength coaches to ensure a holistic approach to an athlete’s development. Regular feedback sessions and performance reviews are common, allowing the coach to adjust plans as the athlete progresses. Open communication and teamwork are essential for addressing challenges such as injury prevention and motivation, making the role both dynamic and collaborative.

What is a run coach?

The main difference between a Run Coach and a Running Coach is that a Run Coach often focuses on overall running performance, injury prevention, and personalized training plans, while a Running Coach may emphasize technique, race strategy, and competitive training. Both roles typically require certifications like CPR and coaching credentials, and they work in gyms, sports clubs, or independently. The terms are often used interchangeably, but 'Run Coach' may suggest a broader approach beyond just running technique. Understanding these distinctions helps athletes choose the right professional for their goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a run coach?

To thrive as a Run Coach, you need a strong understanding of running techniques, training principles, and exercise science, often supported by certifications such as RRCA or USATF. Job description

We're officially launching pickleball and looking for an enthusiastic, reliable coach to help us build something special from the ground up - with real opportunity to grow hours, locations, and leadership as the program expands.

Initial launch locations & schedule:

Liberty School - Petaluma (Fridays)

  • 4-6th grade 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Flyte Racquet Club (Weekends)

  • Weekend sessions, likely mornings
  • Exact times TBD based on coach availability

This starts part-time, but the goal is growth - more hours, more days, and more locations as enrollment increases. If you're someone who wants to help shape a program (not just show up and clock out), this is for you.

What we're looking for:

  • Pickleball experience (teaching or playing)
  • Comfortable working with kids
  • Positive, energetic, and dependable
  • Excited about growing pickleball in the community

Nice to have (or willing to obtain):

  • PPR (Professional Pickleball Registry) Certification
  • Pickleball Certification through the Racquet Sports Professionals Association (RSPA)

While this role is specifically for pickleball, there's also opportunity to teach tennis and/or golf for candidates who have those skills and want additional hours.

If you love pickleball, enjoy working with kids, and want to be part of something that's expanding (instead of stuck in neutral), let's talk.

  • Maintain Equipment and Kit bags
  • Update class rosters and complete student progress reports

Benefits

  • Flexible Schedule
  • Part Time Hours
  • Wages $40-50 per class+ (depending on experience and performance
  • Summer Camp work availability
