Job description

Position Summary:  The individual for this position will be joining a rapidly growing, publicly held company. The position will be based out of the company’s largest operating region and provides great opportunity for growth within the organization. This position falls under the general direction of the National Routing Ma. Will support all aspects of the regional transportation network to include routing, delivery window efficiency, territory planning, assignment of drivers and vehicles, usage of equipment and customer service.
 
What you’ll do:
  • Conducts continuous analysis of route, vehicle and driver assignments and reviews scheduling for possible consolidation or improvements.
  • Assists with planning and implementing vehicle scheduling, resource allocation, routing, dispatching, and communication functions in accordance with established policies and objectives to optimize economical utilization of company assets.
  • Develops route and stop logic and ensure customer service levels are at or above company expectations.
  • Interface with warehouse operations to ensure best practice truck loading logic is always in place using the Truck Builder software.
  • Incorporates daily and weekly vendor pickups, into routing sessions. Allocates equipment and driver resources for scheduled and unscheduled deliveries, pick-ups, and other assignments.
  • Collaborates with Fleet Team to match available vehicles with delivery requirements, distance requirements and customer requirements.
  • Collaborates with the Dispatch team with off day / vacation day coverage.
  • Reviews current routing procedures, provides guidance to resolve technical problems, analyzes costs, recommends, and executes cost control measures.
  • Communicates load requisites, routes sequencing, customer accommodations and schedules with the Night Warehouse Management Team to prioritize order selection process.
  • Performs daily maintenance of and incorporates real time recommendations from drivers and sales team to optimize routing performance. Road net® system.
  • Prints pick tickets as orders are entered, avidly problem solves pick requirements submitted passed cut off times.

About you:
  • High School degree or GED Required, College degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years of routing experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of Road net Transportation Suite preferred.
  • Basic understanding of transportation safety guidelines, and DOT procedures related to routing.
  • Strong communication and team building skills.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Able to impact positive change.
