Job description

We are looking for a CNC Tool Maker in sunny Naples, FL! The Tool Maker is responsible for the timely construction, maintenance, and repair of tools, fixtures, and gauges necessary for production. This role also includes designing and fabricating fixtures to support job completion. Work is performed under general supervision but requires significant use of initiative, independent judgment, and specialized expertise. Success in this position depends on the application of advanced technical concepts, precision techniques, and in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Modify or repair existing parts, fixtures, and tooling
  • Design and fabricate custom fixtures, tooling, and loading fixtures
  • Create precision gauges tailored to specific job requirements
  • Operate tool room equipment safely and in compliance with OSHA and company standards
  • Interpret technical specifications, including blueprints, sketches, models, or written descriptions
  • Visualize end products to determine required materials, tooling, and machinery
  • Generate purchase requisitions for raw materials and components; recommend outsourcing when necessary
  • Provide assistance and support to machinists as needed


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience and proficient in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, indicators)
  • Working knowledge of ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR 820 regulations preferred (training available)
  • Strong mathematical skills, including geometry and algebra, for material calculation
  • Skilled in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel; CAD/CAM software; and ERP systems
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities to meet quality and customer deadlines
  • Self-motivated with the ability to complete tasks independently and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints
  • Experience using sine plates and geometric dimensioning/tolerancing (GD&T) for custom gauge creation
  • Strong analytical thinking for developing, measuring, and improving processes
  • Effective reasoning skills to avoid redundancy and streamline efforts
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and build effective working relationships
