Description

The CNC Router Operator (Plastics) is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC routing machines to cut and shape plastic materials such as acrylic, polycarbonate, PVC, and other composites. This role ensures high-quality production while maintaining safety, precision, and efficiency standards.

Requirements

ย Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC router machines to cut plastic materials per job specificationsย 
  • Load, position, and secure plastic sheets or components on the machineย 
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and CAD drawingsย 
  • Adjust machine settings (speed, feed rate, tooling) based on material type and thicknessย 
  • Select appropriate cutting tools for plastics to prevent melting, chipping, or warpingย 
  • Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as needed for quality and accuracyย 
  • Inspect finished parts using measuring tools to ensure they meet specificationsย 
  • Perform trimming, deburring, and finishing of plastic componentsย 
  • Conduct routine machine maintenance and cleaningย 
  • Troubleshoot minor issues and report major concerns to the supervisorย 
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environmentย 
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalentย 
  • Experience operating CNC routers or similar machinery preferredย 
  • Familiarity with plastic materials (acrylic, polycarbonate, PVC, etc.) is a plusย 
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawingsย 
  • Basic math and measurement skillsย 
  • Strong attention to detail and qualityย 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periodsย 
Preferred Skills:
  • Basic knowledge of CNC programming (G-code)ย 
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software (AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or similar)ย
