Salary: $80,000- $90,000/yr

Good news!GreenSpace Recycling is looking for a Route Operations Manager to join our San Jose team and help support and strengthen the day-to-day operations across the Bay Area.


Successful candidates must be comfortable working around trucks, dumpsters, multifamily properties, fast-moving operational issues, and physical outdoor work in a variety of environments and weather conditions.


This is a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground operational leadership role based in San Jose, not a desk-only management position.


The Route Operations Manager works directly with the field team while supporting route coverage, scheduling, accountability, customer communication, and daily operational execution.


This hybrid role includes administrative and scheduling responsibilities that may be completed remotely, balanced with daily time in the field supporting team members and customers.

Days of Operation: Our business hours are generally Sunday through Friday, 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Availability and Requirements: This is a salaried, overtime-exempt position based in and around San Jose, CA. Work schedules vary based on operational needs and will be discussed during the interview process.


Because this role provides direct field and route support and responds to time-sensitive service needs, the Route Operations Manager must be able to travel to Bay Area sites in approximately 30-45 minutes when on-site support is required.Response times may vary based on traffic and operational demands. These expectations apply consistently to all candidates and team members in this role.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily field operations to ensure service quality and efficiency.
  • Supervise, train, and coach operations team members.
  • Coordinate with leadership, field teams, and support staff to meet client expectations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase safety and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT, and OSHA safety standards.
  • Handle escalated client issues and support operational growth and service expansion.


What Were Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in business administration preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Operations Manager or similar role (at least 2 years of general management/ supervisory experience).
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven ability to problem-solve and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled at identifying operational inefficiencies and improving field processes.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable balancing hands-on field work with administrative responsibilities.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to foster a positive and accountable team culture.
