Job Title: Production Associate
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Durham, NC
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Schedule: Rotating Days, 6:45am – 6:45pm
Job Summary:
The Production Associate is responsible for inspecting, sorting, labeling, and preparing finished card products for packaging and shipment while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and production standards. This role supports efficient manufacturing operations by performing product inspections, maintaining an organized work area, assisting with basic equipment issues, and working collaboratively with the production team. New associates will complete an onboarding program that includes card recognition training to ensure product accuracy and quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete required onboarding and card recognition training.
  • Follow all company safety policies and know how to safely stop equipment during emergencies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area around the slitter and assembly line.
  • Collect finished products from the slitter and inspect them for quality, correct materials, and visual defects.
  • Package inspected cards into designated containers according to job jacket instructions.
  • Properly label finished products and load pallets for transport and shipping.
  • Assist with basic mechanical troubleshooting as needed.
  • Notify the Operator, Line Lead, or Supervisor of non-conforming materials or packaging issues.
  • Report equipment maintenance needs promptly to the Operator and Supervisor.
  • Follow quality standards, ISO requirements, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and company recycling practices.
  • Observe safe work practices and promptly identify or correct hazardous conditions.
  • Follow all company policies, security protocols, and operational procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 60 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience working with slitting, converting, or packaging operations.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience using intranet systems or manufacturing information systems (MIS).
