Participants, often early-career professionals or recent graduates, rotate through various assignments over a set period, typically 12-36 months. This helps them develop diverse skills, build a broad professional network, and gain a comprehensive understanding of the business. The goal is to prepare employees for leadership roles or specialized positions within the organization.

What kind of career growth can I expect after completing a rotational program?

Rotational Programs are designed to give participants broad exposure to different departments or functions within a company, which can significantly accelerate your career development. Upon completion, many participants move into full-time, permanent positions in areas they are most passionate about or where their skills are highly valued. The experience you gain can make you a strong candidate for leadership or specialist roles, and many organizations offer mentorship and professional development resources to support your advancement. Graduates of Rotational Programs often report a clearer understanding of their career goals and better cross-functional relationships within the company.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the rotational program position, and why are they important?

These skills ensure you can quickly gain new knowledge, seamlessly integrate into various teams, and contribute effectively to each rotation for long-term career development.

Are rotational programs worth it?

Rotational programs provide early-career professionals with diverse work experiences across different departments, helping develop a broad skill set and understanding of the company. They can improve employability and networking opportunities, but the value depends on individual career goals and the program's structure. Participants often gain insights into various roles, which can inform future specialization or advancement decisions.

Job description

Physician Associate Student Rotations

This clinical rotation prepares Physician Associate students for ambulatory care settings. MinuteClinic accomplishes this goal by not only meeting the academic standards of the school, but by providing students with a well-rounded experience that includes specialized online training, patient interaction, visibility to our EMR and the opportunity to work in a new and exciting model of health care. Our preceptors have a passion for teaching and sharing their knowledge. All of our providers have exceptional clinical skills and are experts in the operational skills required to run their own clinic. MinuteClinic's student rotations offer the most unique experience available, because you are doing more than just enhancing your clinical skills: Practical education including clinic operations, insurance procedures, and reference of evidence based guidelines. Students will gain exposure in an ambulatory care setting and develop an understanding of how these clinics fit into the current structure of health care delivery. Patient care includes patients 18m and older for acute and chronic care including women's health exams, DOT physicals, sports physicals, etc. You'll develop an understanding of how our corporate office relates to and supports our clinical practice. MinuteClinic is open 7 days a week and our providers' schedules are compressed, so clinical days can vary from week-to-week. Clinic locations may also vary depending on schedule of your assigned preceptor.

To participate, you must be enrolled in a Physician Associate program that already has an executed Affiliation Agreement with MinuteClinic. PA students are only eligible for clinical rotations in the states in which we currently hire PAs. We will also verify with your program faculty that you are eligible for a clinical rotation at MinuteClinic. If your program deems you as eligible for consideration, you will be considered for placement.

CVS Health requires certain colleagues to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including any booster shots if required), where allowable under the law, unless they are approved for a reasonable accommodation based on disability, medical condition, religious belief, or other legally recognized reasons that prevents them from being vaccinated. Please note that in some states and roles, you may be required to provide proof of full vaccination or an approved reasonable accommodation before you can begin your rotation.

Important Note - MinuteClinic can only accept PA clinical rotation requests in the following states: CT, DC, GA, MD, MN, NC, NE, NV, RI, SC, TN, and TX. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for the rotation program. This job does not have an application deadline, as CVS Health accepts applications on an ongoing basis.
