Job description

Join an innovative organization that operates advanced power generation facilities supporting critical infrastructure. The team is seeking a hands-on Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to support plant operations while guiding and mentoring a team of technicians. This is a working lead role, ideal for a strong E&I technician or industrial electrician who wants to be a leader while remaining actively involved in troubleshooting, maintenance, and system performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical, instrumentation, and control systems
* Diagnose and resolve issues involving PLCs, DCS systems, instrumentation, and industrial electrical equipment
* Calibrate, inspect, and maintain instrumentation equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance
* Lead and support daily activities of E&I techs, including task prioritization, planning, and work execution
* Plan, organize, and coordinate technical work scopes in collaboration with maintenance leadership
* Mentor and train junior techs, promoting skill development and safe work practices
* Troubleshoot equipment by understanding system design and operational characteristics to identify and resolve root causes
* Coordinate work orders, maintenance documentation, and reporting through internal systems
* Ensure compliance with safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental regulations
* Respond to equipment issues and support emergency repairs as needed
* Assist with operational planning, forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
* 5-8+ years of experience as an E&I technician or industrial electrician
* Experience working with PLC and DCS systems for troubleshooting and diagnostics
* Prior experience in a lead or senior technician role preferred
* Experience with instrumentation calibration and repair, including sensors, probes, meters, and control components
* Familiarity with industrial equipment such as conveyors, boilers, motors, and auxiliary systems
* Experience working with pneumatic and digital instrumentation systems
* Must be able to work a Monday through Friday day shift schedule with consistent overtime as needed
* Must be available to participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including occasional weekend coverage
Preferred:
* Experience with CEMS and/or SCADA systems
* Experience working with Bailey DCS systems
* Electrical licensing or relevant certifications
